I didn't know they had one!

I guess Mike had to turn to Billy Duffy for that!

So glad Coloursound is back.  It's over 20 years since their first album.

London Quireboys........ Lots o Les Paul shaped objects  ;)

Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

So I saw a pic of Husker Du using a Victory bass (candy apple red with heavy wear) so went to go look for a vid of that show for the fat bottom girls thread, but instead found this (also nicely prominent bassline with heavy flanging and/or envelope filter):

Can't tell if a copy (can't seem to get a good pause of the headstock or bridge) but if it is it's one of the better ones.
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page (drummer and bassist of Deep Purple, Jake!)

And Bob always with his Ibanez Flying V.

A lo-z Les Paul Bass with David Bowie. Not sure who it is; Willie Weeks or Emir Ksasan?

Good catch.  Can barely see the thing.

It's Emir Ksasan, Willie Weeks never wore a 'fro, even in the mid-seventies!

That is also the (Mike) 'garson band' backing Bowie in that vid - with inter alia David Sanborn (sax), Dennis Davis (dr), Carlos Alomar (guit), Earl Slick (guit), Pablo Rosario (perc) and Emir Ksasan on bass plus of course Mike Garson as musical director/keyboarder. There is a picture on twitter of the garson band (which when not backing Bowie gigged low-key with Luther Vandross singing)

and it pictures Ksasan in the middle with the bass planted to his feet, the Gibson neck and headstock visible.

(left to right: Alomar, Davis, Garson, Ksasan, Rosario, Sanborn, Slick).

Unless I'm gravely mistaken, Bowie never had a white bassist touring with him again after he ditched Trevor Bolder. Herbie Flowers, Mark Plati, Tony Visconti and Tim Lefebvre (all of them white) played on some albums, but on tours it was Willie Weeks, Emire Ksasan, George Murray, Carmine Rojas and Gail Ann Dorsey, all of them black (wo)men (ok, Carmine probably only had a touch of black DNA in him). Tin Machine with Tony Sales was the only exception to the rule.

Thank you Uwe for that extensive answer!  :toast:
I had more trouble identifying the bass player than the bass bas itself

Don't think we've seen Chuck being backed up by a LPB here yet. Also Johnny Rivers' fro is not to be outdone.

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

For once, that is actually a reasonably tight performance from the ole non-rehearser!

Last night was the annual “Night of the pop music” on Dutch tv.
Three hours with an eclectic choice of live performances.

One of the bands that came along was Fun Loving Criminals.
Featuring a five string Les Paul Bass.
You don’t see those often!

A cute little girl, some huge talent and garishly yellow strings plus a Les Paul Junior Tribute at 08:28:

At this rate, she's gonna be fearsomely good and versatile once she is an adolescent. A Wunderkind. Unlike me.

I love that she comes across totally as a kid. I would be very surprised if that wasn't sincere (I've seen a few kid actors who sounded like 40 year olds when the camera wasn't on them). Her utter joy in nailing those lines was infectious and made me want to hit the woodshed. Judging by her variety and number of basses, she makes a perfect (honorary) Outposter.

Dang.  She's better than I am, that's for sure.  More power to her!

Lovely. And very talented.
But her dad is very pushy.
Which is almost always the case with very young kids being promoted like this on social media.
