John Waite is the one who got me interested in Les Paul basses. I didn't know until the internet age that it was a Zemaitis he played back in the day, but the shape was clear.

I thought his neo-Ziggy Stardust fake ginger mullet look he sported for a while rather unfortunate - that just didn't go with The Babys' tune- and skillful, but never cutting-edge music at all. He could have auditioned for The Cars with that. He looked kind of restless with it too and that seems to have been the red (no pun) thread of his chequered career. Torn between being Bryan Adams or David Bowie.

Excellent singer though.

I saw a pick of the Raincoats using a Triumph at an outdoor show but can't find a vid of it.

Woody mastering a Triumph.

That's funny, I consider it a Triumph to master a Woody.

Cassidy counts for the LP thread since reissue of an LP Sig right?  Not my fave DM song, but the bass is featured the most prominently out of the whole set.

Rumors that you peed on yours have never really stopped here. And it's too late to eradicate them now.

In rock circles, they are really an underrated band. Gahan is a great frontman. What Metallica is to heavy metal, Bon Jovi to AOR and U2 to strummy new wave guitar rock, DM is to synth romantic pop, a band that rose above the niche it came from and left it behind to conquer a mass market. I respect that.

True.  I"ve been a fanboy since back in the day.... hate Gahan's stage presence though (the random shoutouts at musically inopportune moments, and how he sometimes gets really out of breath), and when they take a banger and turn it into a piano ballad with Martin singing so Dave can have a break/wardrobe change.
