Rob, you might be on to something, as usual the miserly Dutch are to blame. The vid I posted first is from Dutch TV show TopPop in 1975 where they obviously preferred to equip their English guests with no-name props!!!
At home, Graham Gouldmann would play his Ric with which he was more or less inseparable.
BTW, I can't believe the comment of the English moderator here at 03:21 about "
the female part of the audience looking good - chewing gum" - bad old days indeed.
