Just b/c they aren't expensive doesn't mean anyone will call them firewood.

But it looks like some woodland critters have stolen the strings off your J type. Be on the lookout for any squirrels with blue masking tape.

And THAT's why I like it here so much... I had posted at some other bass site years ago and got "run outta town"  because I didn't have some fancy (or brand-name, I can't remember which now) bass. ]
And our squirrels are going nuts (see what I did there?) gathering stuff up for winter. We have a bunch of Walnut and Oak trees in the yard, and I think 3 counties' worth of rodents are running around back there. It wouldn't suprise me if I went out there and found the Red squirrels tying the grey ones to the trees with my strings... mean buggers, those guys.
If it was good enough for Danny Bonaduce, it ought to be good enough for fake bass players everywhere!

Instrument snobbery is found everywhere. When I run into it, I sometimes think of the bluesmen who sometimes played guitars that were little more than a cigar box or apple crate with a neck and strings added. Some of those dudes became famous with instruments that wouldn't have even made good firewood!

We found the mother-lode of finches and tits here... two kilos of bird seed a day...

That acoustic looks a bit close to the fire.  Not so worried about it drying out so much as how flamable that paint job looks ;P

Some group shots I had on the computer.
I kinda like small headstock P Basses.

Here's a maple board grouping.

Just because.

Currently 11 basses, 5 guitars, 1 upright. The 4003S/BT is my son's.

Not in the pic - my son's fretless Jazz, my youngest son's guitar (jazz box), and a Höfner 185 I bought recently off eBay and hasn't arrived yet.

'86, 1st year of the '57 reissue I think. It's very incorrect, with modern tuners, Tune-o-Matic bridge and separate tailpiece, and wrong shape guard (humped like the guard on an SG-style Jr). Later models were more correct. But that's the way it was made and I'm not messing with it. It's actually the only guitar or bass I bought brand new.

Looks cool!  I noticed the TOM bridge, and that's what had me wondering...

I got ahold of a Jr. last year and was really blown away by the range of sound that you can coax out of it by working those knobs.  Never thought I'd like a single pickup guitar this much.

Mine is a '05 Hamer, which they had as a catalog model for a while.  It's made out of korina, and is super light weight and resonant.  Really sings!  This has the stock Wilkinson bridge and the original overwound Duncan pickup was replaced by the previous owner with a Lollar P90.  I put a set of TonePros Kluson plate tuners on it in place of the original Rotomatics.

Here's a pic of that one... (the shredder in front there was only visiting)

I like it so much I have a second on the way.  This one is one of a handful made in mahogany closer to vintage spec (stock Gotoh plate tuners w/a thinner 50s spec headstock).  These led to the production model.  If this one holds up, I might sell the korina since I really wanted one in tv yellow from the get go.

Anyway, back to basses  ;)

I have no idea what those are worth, and I can't bear to go check, because I don't want to know if I can buy it from you or not (LOVE Doublecut style LP Jrs)
