Few people can sing like Marc Bolan, but he comes close.

That's a real Gibson Les Paul Bass / Triumph alright. But I'm pretty sure it was just for the video, because it doesn't sound like a Triumph at all. Sounds like an active Jazz Bass (or similar) was used for the recording.

Another LPB, Jeff Christie apparently doesn't play bass anymore, but his bassist plays an LP Standard, though it's all mimed to the original recording in any case ...

Jeff Christie didn't play bass on the original, despite playing a P bass in the original (mimed) video. He wrote the song for the Tremeloes, who recorded it but decided not to release it. What you hear on the record is Jeff Christie's vocals and the Tremeloes' instrumental tracks.

Jim Lea with a Triumph ...

When I saw them do this, Jim played the keys and Dave played Jim's bass. I think my ears are still ringing from that show, they were effingly loud.

It was the '70s!  I had a pair not all that different in high school and the red platform shoes too!

Jake is a sartorial conservative bordering on the reactionary - tell everyone!

In true fact, Noddy Holder invented steam punk fashion!  8) And - compared to his bandmates - his outfit was actually the best. Don Powell's Lamé dungareess - naw. Jim Lea's baby-blue knickerbockers? Give me a break. And the words "stylish fashion" and Dave Hill's name n'er shall meet in one sentence - unless it also contains the word NOT.  Jim Lea was sometimes so aghast he would say: "I'm not going on stage with you dressed like that!"

I still have some shirts that could blind folks. Polyester doesn't breath, but it sure does shine!

Been having a John Waite day. The man still has an amazing voice.

His bass player Tim Hogan often plays either Thunderbird or -like in this performance- a Les Paul bass
