 Ah so that's what the wood is! If I chrome it out I will be sure to save the tuners and bridge. It's safe for the moment I'm broke !

How does the output compare to your '66 Thunderbuckers?

My 2007 Tbird IV had what I would call "wimpy" pickups, and the difference between those and my '00 Blackbird (which is loud!) was similar to what you hear on Steve's site between the '63 vs. '66 Thunderbuckers

It is difficult to say for sure as I have not done a side by side comparison  but the Cherry bird is at least as loud as my Jaebird with the '66 Thunderbuckers. Sound wise the TPplus pups have more lows, less mids and a tighter overall sound. These units have more top end sparkle than other post '89 birds I have played, older units always sounded "thuddy" to me.

 I find this self imposed restraint perplexing, here we have a very collectable version of the Thunderbird and you act as if it were a Fender. Restraint is overrated.

Attorneys don't generally need a rational argument for anything.  They just work backward from their desired result. ;)
