Back in my arms again...
« on: September 11, 2010, 04:11:24 PM »
Mark and I did the deal this morning.  He sold it back to me for pretty much the same reasons I sold it to him.  It needs to be played and heard, and needs a good home.  Bad phone pic.  I'll try to get better later.

I could be in a quandry, though.  I got the BaCHBird because I no longer had the Embassy.  Now that I have it back, I may not need the BaCH.  Think anyone here would be interested in one of the original 50, with a '60s Gibson humbucker in it?   ;D

Congratulations. I know Mark will have some regrets about letting it go, as you did seven years ago. But it doesn't fit his needs now and it fits yours. Win/win.

I'll get some new ones, and post them.  It really is a nice bass.

Which Mark? The TBird floozy one? I never saw him playing it.

I like my Embassy. It doesn't have the same thud as a TBird, perhaps the body is too unsubstantial for it, but it has an airy quality of its own, the mids breathe more.

Congratulations, Gary, on getting the ol' Embassy back! One helluva bass, that one! You've still got the Japanese Embassy from the 70's? And, furthermore, you've still got that Newport?

The Mark in question is fur85.  Here's a cleaner picture of the bass.  I'm thinking of hitting a blues jam today with it.  It has TI Flats on it, and I feel like giving it a spin.

Uwe, the same Mark who bought the pointy Purple Clown Bass for you and even dared to be photographed playing it.
