Uh oh. What's happening with the band?

gweimer

We ran through a bunch of songs.  "Wheel in the Sky", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Keep on Rocking in the Free World", "Red House" (always ask what key they play...I was in G, they were in B...), and anything that we thought we could all play.  We even did "Smoke on the Water" with no vocals.  The girl singer is pretty good, has a strong high end.  It looks like we're a go, and we start weekly rehearsals.  We plan to be gigging before the end of the year.  We won't be doing any Skynyrd.  I love Leon's playing, but I'll be happy to keep them off the songlist in this band.

in my current (soon to be former) band.

The one with the cute singer? If so, I'm sorry to hear that.  I was looking forward to more pics and video! I hope it's because you've found an even better band...

Yeah, the cute singer!  Say it ain't so! :o

If you no longer are in the band, does that mean you're free to drool instead of maintaining professional detachment?

"Artistic differences". Way too much to get into on a public forum, but I had to get out from under that umbrella. Moving on to hopefully bigger and better things. My new band is going to have TWO cute girls, so don't worry. One on keys/rhythm guit./bass, one on lead vox. I'll be playing mostly bass, but I'll do some keys here and there. Amy loves playing bass, and it will be good to get her out front some. Checking out a singer Anna and meeting with the manager I'm building this with Wednesday night. Pics......

Gary - sounds good. Hope it turns into some good $$$ for you.

I have confidence that Tom can handle it.

Definitely a cause for concern! But, I know Amy pretty well now, and she's exceptionally level headed, especially for a 25 YO girl. She's actually a bigger bass geek than I am (used to be RicChic at the Vox forum I think). Our first rehearsal, she's like "is that a Hipshot bridge on your Ric?" (yes). Impressive! LOL! And the fact that they're not both lead singers helps. Wish me luck!

Bass players are always the even-keeled, sensible ones...  (not that I'm biased or anything :))

Good luck with the new project

Ya know, you're right. I've been called "the voice of reason" my more than one band mate over the years. And I forgot to mention that her last band was ALL chicks.

Broken hip... ha ha! C'mon, I work hard to stay in shape. I'm ONLY 45, that's still young, right?  :-\  :P  ;D
