Nice front view! The back looks awfully rough.

4004LK... Haven't seen one for sale in a long time. Insane $17,550 BIN.

Dave W

He does have a Make Offer button. I suspect he'll get some serious ones. "Beyond stupid rare" is about right. It will probably be many years before most of the 60 will be up for sale. Maybe after the original owners have passed and their heirs offer them.

Dave, Mike Parks has #12 for sale, NOS, with the earlier pickup layout.

Dave W

Has anyone asked him about the price?

#635
1975 white double neck 4080. Pics show mile-high action. $14,500 starting bid...  ???

Dave W

Another bass with action so high you could slide Calista Flockhart under there.

Looks like an early model, when the neck pocket was really small (4080's are bolt-on). The neck meets the body at the 17th fret. Later RIC changed the body shape to make a longer neck pocket.

Here you can compare the first design (left) and the improved (but less elegant) later design:

Beat but original one-owner '72 in very dark FG. Could be ATG, old FG's tend to be more orangey and less dark than this one.

I love the worn look when it's genuine.

Looks pretty much all there, but for the 4003 treble pickup. Crazy bit of maple that.

Basses like that usually don't start at $0.99 no reserve. Wanna venture a guess?

It will be very interesting to see, I would say it'll get proper money, if it actually gets real bids and no shill, unfortunately most pieces don't last the duration without intervention.

That would look great in Autumnglo.

Tuna boat alert: '74 4005WB MG on eBay, current bid $1,890 - no reserve and no crazy starting bid / BIN.
