Another 1968 MG, this time with a horseshoe and wider pickguard

ilan

1968 in a nice example of old Autumnglo - back when it was just a heavily applied Fireglo.

Gary's asking prices have always been on the high side but $14.9 K for that? Not even if I won a lottery jackpot.

ilan

Nice '81 FG tuna boat. Period-correct button-tops, narrow inlays, black tuner bushings, plain binding, and raised letter TRC.

ilan

S/5 that someone had turned into sort of a v63/5. Very tasteful mod IMHO.

Stained headstock wings, C64 pickguard, tug bar, plexi TRC, vintage knobs, toaster at 1/2", modified string spacing... I love it.

Dave W

Price is a bit unrealistic considering the mods. OTOH with better string spacing it's much more playable than a standard Rick 5.

Oh man, my favorite color for these. OK, I know they only came in two...  :)

That's the elusive B Series.

If they would only stay blue!

'63 4000. Stripped and modded for a BadAss (seller uncludes the original gap-tooth bridge). Cool as hell. Starting bid: $3,300.

Dave W

It's rare all right. I wouldn't pay that, though I wish him good luck.

There was a basse at the Pit for awhile, he had an early doublecut Junior-style EB-0. Wonder if it's the same guy.

ilan

Ha! Didn't notice that.

Actually seeing this bass reminds me of a similar early 60's 4000 (w/orig. horseshoe) that I could have bought locally for dirt cheap, but passed because I was an idiot. It had a bad LPB refin (no wood removed though) and was made fretless. It was heavy, and sounded awesome.
