Hi Guys,
Just got home on Wednesday after 6 days in the hospital. Having some problems with my bile duct getting clogged up and things don't digest properly as a result. All of the initial tests have been negative, that's good, but I do have some more tests coming up to try and figure this out. If you believe in prayer, I'd ask you to include me and if you don't, just think positive thoughts on my behalf! I really missed hanging around here while I was out, but I'm back and feeling much better.
Best regards,
Bill
-
Best of luck with your tests...will put you on the "list"...
-
Alles Gute, Doktor Bassmann!
-
Good mojo from Raleigh, NC!
-
Glad you're good so far. Prayer sent.
-
Been wondering where you were, doc. All the Best.
-
Best wishes, Bill, sorry to hear you've been ailing. When you're away for more than a few days I just figure your educational duties have taken you away. Hope this is temporary and minor.
-
Seattle sends best wishes to you Bill.
-
Positive vibes sent
-
Best wishes from one who is lacking his gall bladder and who doesn't miss it in the least!!
-
More Raleigh mojo comin' atcha!
Best of luck.
-
Best of luck to you Doc. Good vibes and positive thoughts coming to you from the desert!!
-
You guys are great! Thanks so much. I hope to get back into my shop this week and bang around on the EB-3 project. It's a real blessing to have you all as my bass colleagues!
-
Bill sorry to hear of this, I hope you are feeling better and get this sorted out quick! Positive vibes and prayers for you and your family.
-
Hope you get through this and get well soon!

-
You got it.
-
Get well soon.
Good mojo from the Lowlands
-
hope you're feeling better soon!
-
Thanks again everyone! I'm feeling so good now, I just pray it lasts!
Scott, I was in RGH for 6 days and I thought about calling you, but I was out of it most of the time and really pushing to get home. Morphine is an interesting drug, lots of pluses and lots of minuses! I don't miss it frankly, but it sure got me through the acute pancreatitis with minimal discomfort. Better living through chemistry!
-
I'm doing better now a week after exiting the hospital. I'm back to real food, just have to be careful to avoid fats, too much sugar and alcohol. Ugh! I had a follow up appointment yesterday and all of my blood tests are normal. Good signs so far. I'm back to work, but I wear out by 3 PM or so. Not bad considering! I have an endoscopic ultrasound on Friday, the 23rd. to take a close look at my pancreas and rule out anything life threatening. Keep me in our prayers, still got a couple hurdles to clear before it's over.
Merry Christmas!
Blessings,
Bill
-
Bill call me anytime! I am glad you are home and feeling better. Six days at RGH? No thanks!
Thanks again everyone! I'm feeling so good now, I just pray it lasts!

I definitely will call. Let's do lunch in January.
-
Hey guys, hope everyone had a great Christmas. I had some great family time and my son is still here with his girlfriend. I did get some bad news, the docs found abnormal cells in my pancreas, so I'll be having surgery as soon as possible. I'll keep you all posted (it will be sporadic for 3-4 weeks) and ask that you keep me in your prayers a little longer. There`are some good signs, so after the surgery, I should make a good recovery.
Best wishes to all for a safe and healthy New Year!
-
Best wishes, Bill. I'm glad you have reasons to feel positive about your outcome because that's a huge part of the battle right there. Stay positive knowing there are lots of people who love and rely on you. You also have many admirers here. You add a lot to this place and do so with a cheerful demeanor that I know lifts me up. I would imagine others feel the same. You're in my prayers.
-
Beste Wünsche!
-
Bill - catching this early is the best thing possible under the circumstances! I'm very concerned for you - experience with my dad - but I'm hoping you will be fine. You're valued and respected - hang in there, stay positive and let us know how you're doing.
-
All the best, Bill.
-
More prayers and positive vibe Bill! Don't know what it would be but if you need anything let me know. Glad you had a nice Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
-
Sorry to hear about your problems Doc. Hope it all turns out alright. Good vibes to you from across the Pacific. And Happy New Year!
-
Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It's a joy and a privilege to hangout here with you all. I'll keep you posted.
-
Thanks Scott. I know I can count on you if I need some bass support!
-
I wish you all the best Bill... both my parents went through issues re this area (one unfrotunately cancer based and fatal) and one doctor described the pain to my dad as akin to what women go through during childbirth... definitely do not envy you... dad had his gall bladder removed back in the late 80's and then the remaining duct blocked again...!
-
Were pulling for you Doc. In our thoughts & prayers.
-
Yep, my situation is similar. Had my gallbladder out 6 years ago, all was fine. Got a little sick in November and discovered the bile duct was partially blocked. All of the tests have been inconclusive, but leaning to the possibility of cancer. There's definitely something blocking my duct, so we're going in to find out and take corrective action. Better to do this immediately than wait around. I'm feeling positive as we think this is very early on since they can't find cancer cells, just abnormal ones that they can't really classify.
So, the surgery will be scheduled soon and I'll be out of commission for at least a couple weeks. Recovery could also be a cupel more weeks. My hospital is a very good one and my doc is head of surgery there. I have probably 20 former students working there (most in high level administrative positions, my surgeon's head nurse is also a student of mine), so I get lots of personalized attention when I'm in the hospital. There's so much to be thankful for.
I'll get online as soon as I'm able and see what you've all been up to in my absence. Bless you all in the new year!
-
Blessings to you and a quick recovery.
-
Wishing you all the best, for a quick recovery & a Happy New Year!
-
We'll be thinking of you, Bill!
-
Best wishes for you in all of this Doc. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
-
Good news for a change! My wife's cousin is the Chief of Radiation Oncology at the hospital where I was to have my surgery and she wants me to go to Johns Hopkins, so she'll be trying to arrange that for us on Tuesday! What a whirlwind. Pray they'll take my case, I'm a low risk patient and should have good outcomes.
-
Prayers and Happy New Year to you Bill!
-
You're in my prayers Doc. Glad to hear the good news on Johns Hopkins as well.
Hang in there - we're all pulling for you!
-
Keeping you in my thoughts. (((((((( good vibes ))))))))
-
Best wishes from my corner of the universe as well, Bill. Early detection is everything.
-
Just checking in after a bit. I send my strongest wish for the best of outcomes!!!
-
Best wishes and prayers sent. Hang in there!
-
Thanks everyone! I had a good day today. Found out I'm going to Johns Hopkins next Thursday for a consultation. Things are going our way now.
-
Keep us posted!
-
Hi All,
We had a great appointment at Johns Hopkins and I'll be having my surgery there on Jan. 20th. The chief of the pancreatic cancer center will be doing it, so we are feeling really blessed. JH is the best in the US for this surgery. He believes my tumor is cancer, so we're geared up for that and pleased that he said it is small, contained and easily removed. So, after the 20th. I'll be offline for a week or two, but I will jump back in when I'm feeling up to it.
Thanks again for your positive thoughts and prayers. Keep them coming!
Sincerely,
Bill
-
That is good news...we'll keep you on the prayer list.
Patman
-
Bill, I'm really glad to hear this. Move with all possible haste, and let us know how you're doing. I'm pulling for you.
-
Thanks guys. Yep, we're moving this as fast as we can and JH has been very helpful in doing so.
-
It sounds like the prognosis is good and you are in good hands. We'll be pulling for you.
-
It sounds like you caught it early which is great news!
-
Sounds like good news, at least in this situation. Wishing you the best during this Doc!
-
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sounds like you have the right people involved, caught it early, and you're gonna whoop this thing and be finishing bass projects before you know it! Looking forward to your speedy recovery.
-
Always in our thoughts Bill. I'm looking forward to lunch so we can catch up.
-
i'm no doc but that sounds like good news in your situation. In our prayers and best of luck next week.
-
Great news Doc! Good luck with your surgery and recovery. Here's hoping that you have a least one hot nurse along the way! ;D
-
good luck bro, prayers are with you.
-
Just read this. It is tough, but I hope all goes well. Bona Fortuna!
-
Keeping them crossed, Bill... keeping them crossed...
-
Putting extra thoughts out for Bill who goes under the knife this Friday...
-
How's it going, Bill?
-
Hope everything went okay, he did say he expected to be offline a couple of weeks.
-
I hope everything's going well, Bill!
-
Same here Bill!
-
You have not been off the radar my friend...
We all look forward to a swift recovery and finally getting that BillyBo sprayed, even more than me clearing the cobwebs from the shed... ;)
-
We just want Bill back!! I'm deeply concerned, and I hope he's doing well!
-
I'm back!!!! Thanks to everyone for the wonderful thoughts and prayers before we embarked to Johns Hopkins. We appreciate your love and caring more than we can put into words! We really do have a wonderful community here and it always comes out when things are toughest.
Sorry it's taken me so long to send an update, but it took me a few days to settle in here at home after returning from Baltimore on Wednesday. To be honest, I just didn't feel well enough from the effects of the painkillers to sit on a computer, even for a few minutes. My surgery went well. It turned out that I had a tumor in my bile duct. The cancer didn't spread to any other organs but some cancer cells were found in a couple lymph nodes. So, I'll be undergoing chemo and radiation treatments when the doctors decide what that will entail. That should start in 2-4 weeks. I was elated and exhausted last Wednesday when we got home after a 7 hour drive. It took me a few days to really recuperate. I was only in the hospital for one week and then 5 days resting in a hotel waiting for clearance from my surgeon to travel home.
So, I'll spend the next few weeks getting my strength back and preparing for chemo and radiation. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. The power of your collective caring is felt everyday by our family. I'm back now and will try to contribute whatever I can! I have lots of projects I can tackle while I'm off work, so there is a positive side to resting up!!! ;D
-
Bill, that sounds about as good as it can be! Not perfect, but it sounds like you will win this battle. I'm DELIGHTED to hear it.
Hang in there, buddy!!
-
Take good care of yourself Bill, best wishes!
-
Glad to have you back! Glad things went well on this round.
-
Glad your back home Bill, we sure have missed you. If you need anything for your projects let me know, if it's a local source I can pick it up for you.
-
Glad you're back! Hope the chemo and radiation therapy lead to a full recovery.
-
Take good care of yourself Bill. We are all still pulling for you!!
-
Welcome back!...I was beginning to get a little worried...
-

Yep Al, I was blessed for sure. The tumor pressed on my bile duct and made me sick well before spreading like they tend to do. Really dodged a bullet there! Cancer runs deep on my Mom's side of the family, so I'm well prepared by life's experiences for the road ahead and come from a long list of survivors. I know I can't do it alone, but with family, friends and faith, so many positive things can happen. Thanks for your concern, I'm feeling good about things.
-
Take good care of yourself Bill. We are all still pulling for you!!
Thanks!!! ;D

Welcome back!...I was beginning to get a little worried...
Sorry, didn't mean to stay away so long! I'm feeling good now. Keep me in your prayers!
-
Must feel good to be home, all the best!
-
You got it, Bill!!! Be strong!!
-
Happy to hear you got to it early, Bill. It seems like your head and heart are in the right place for the road ahead.
-
glad you're back home; stay strong!
-
Thanks so much everyone! Life is journey best taken with friends and family by one's side! You all are the greatest!
-
So happy to see you back and recovering, Bill. I'm optimistic that you'll have a full recovery.
-
Glad to hear you've got great prospects and that your surgery was a succes. The pancreatic cancer thing is supposedly one scary mofo that's hard to beat and I'm glad to hear that you dodged it.
Nothing beats being at home - your own bed, your own couch/recliner and your own remote control. Here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
-
Good luck to you Doc. Glad to hear you are on the right side of that fight. :)
-
Seeing the chemo doc on Feb. 14th., what a great Valentine's Day present! :P
-
Such great news Doc. Sounds like you really dodged a bullet. Usually you never find out about Pancreatic Cancer till its too late. Your really lucky they caught it early.
-
Good luck with the chemo Doc, I have been quite impressed by how well it has helped the people close to me. Most of them are doing great!

Yeah, the little bugger was in just the right spot to make me sick before it went haywire. I feel so blessed, I can't even express it!

Willkommen zurück, Herr Doktor. Best, most heartening piece of news on the board.
-
Thanks Uwe! Life is beautiful!

Bill, That is good news. Hang in there.
-
Glad to see you back, Bill!
-
Welcome back, Bill... fingers will remain crossed for the forseables... ;)
-
Thanks everyone! Each day gets better!
-
Finally started chemo toady! My first chemo treatment went well this morning. Everyone tells me I'll feel it more tomorrow, so we'll see. As for today, I'm feeling good. The IV process took an hour and wasn't bad. We'll see how I feel the rest of this week as I am also taking 6 chemo pills a day. The regimen is 2 weeks on, 1 week off for a total of 12 weeks. Then radiation/chemo after a month break. So, the path is clear now and will stretch into the summer. At last we're on our way with phase 2!
-
yeah, chemo is like that. i still get a couple treatments a year after five years. :P
-

Wow, my docs said chemo is good insurance, so it sounds like you're continuing to invest! I hope you continue to do well, I'm looking for 5 more plus years myself! Best wishes and prayers. Bill
-
It's heartening to hear that the first installment went well. I hope you continue to feel as good.
-

-
I'm back at work today and feeling really good! Chemo is going well and this is my week off, so I'm enjoying that, too. The sun is shining, it's going to be over 70 degrees today and I have band practice tonight. Life is good! Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers!
-
Right on!!!
-
More good news! May you continue to feel good.
-
Thanks guys!
-
Great news Doc! I do admire your outlook and fortitude on this thing - I would like to think that I would hold up half as well as you are doing faced with the same diagnosis.

Enjoy Bill!

Thanks for the props guys. I know it's not for everyone, but a strong faith in something greater than I keeps it all in perspective and gives me strength beyond my own innate ability to stay positive and press on. I'm healing and at peace with whatever may come.

All I can say Bill, is that I wish you worked here at Colorado State - I'd definitely like to count you as an on-campus colleague in addition to being a virtual one.

I wish I worked at CSU too! We'd have a hell of a good time, that's for sure!

Well, if you are ever motivated to do a research project on craft beers of Colorado, I happen to live in the center of the primary research area.

I wish!!!! Once chemo and radiation are finished, I already planned on a lengthy beer/wine reserach project in Bavaria! I could always find a way to squeeze Colorado in as well. My wife's brother lives in Boulder and we're way overdue for a visit with him, too.

Well, then there's hope! I wish you good health and I will hope for a "cameo" visit one of these days! (And we have a nice guest room...)

Certainly possible, we're way overdue for a visit to my brother-in-law. I'll keep it in mind for sure!

Really? Where at? My son just moved out there, and he is working at The Great Divide.

Really? Where at? My son just moved out there, and he is working at The Great Divide.
I see that's in Denver, so he's right in the middle of it!
Here in town we have New Belgium (Fat Tire), O'Dell's, Fort Collins Brewing and a number of brewpubs like Coopersmith's. Seems like here and 10 miles south in Loveland there's a new craft brew operation every few months. I've found and visited two of them in the past 60 days.
There's a lot of mighty fine beer to be consumed here!
-
Hey gang, I thought it was time for an update. I'm half way through my IV chemo treatments today and I'm feeling great. I'm off now for 2 weeks before round 3 of 4 starts. No side effects to speak of except a little tired once in awahile. I drive myself to the clinic and head to work after the IV is finished. It's that easy.
I've been back to work for a couple weeks and all is going well with that too. Best new is my cancer enzyme tests are now in the normal range, so all systems are working well and in synch. Man do I feel good today!!!!
-
That's really great news Bill!

DELIGHTED to hear it!! Keep up the good results!
Thanks guys. I am blessed in so many ways and today was just a real uplifting experience, in spite of the drugs they pumped into me in the morning.
I do not want to start a political debate about health insurance, so please, don't anyone go there. But, I have to say that my BCBS insurer worked closely with the Maryland BCBS organization and they covered my care entirely except for a few hundred dollars in standard copays. I am forever grateful for the system that permitted me to have the best care available with the full support of my insurer. They could have easily declared me out-of-plan, but didn't. It can and does often work.
-
Just kick hell out of it Bill!
Rob Francis
-
Glad to hear it's going so well.
-
Thanks guys, we really are kicking butt now. Great docs, great care, great faith and great support. It is so amazing to see it all coalesce into one big life experience.
-
Well, I'm sitting here waiting for my LAST chemo treatment. I can't believe it's been 11 weeks already. Things have gone well. After 8 weeks of treatment, all of my blood work was normal and it looks like the cancer is being destroyed as planned. My cancer screening test is now normal, so all is well in my world! After today, I'll get a month of rest before radiation. My doc says the radiation is insurance to back up the chemo. I'm in for the duration. Whatever is most effective, I'm ready.
I feel like a walking miracle. The more I learn about bile duct cancer, the more blessed I feel to even be alive today.
-
Great news by any standards - and yes, you are one very lucky man. Pick me up a lottery ticket next time you're out.
-
I'm a happy guy to hear it, Bill!!

Can I get an amen?! Yeah!

Well, I've run the gauntlet and survived. I finished my 6 week radiation/chemo regimen yesterday, exactly 6 months to the day after my surgery. I managed to avoid side effects until the last 10 days or so. Now, I just have to get my appetite back, get my GI tract settled down (have some acid reflux caused by the treatments) and rest up. They tell me it will take at least a month to do that. But hey, what's the downside to 2 naps a day???
Anyway, my cancer is gone and I have another check up in 2 months. ;D It could come back, but the treatments I had are pretty effective in knocking it out. The plan was actually developed by Johns Hopkins researchers and my docs here followed it. So, as long as I stay healthy, no more treatments! Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers and keeping me in mind over the last 6 months. Gonna spend some time in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to boost my recuperation! I hope to slowly get back into the shop and get some things done. Been too tired up till now!
Blessings to you all!
Bill
-
Great to hear! I've been missing your project posts. All the best!
-
That is great news Bill! I have been thinking about you and we certainly have missed your presence here at LBO. When you are up to it let me know and we can get together and talk basses 'birds and such.
-
Chalk one more up for the good guys.
-
Bill, I'm absolutely delighted. Pancreatic cancer got my dad, and to know that you've come through it is wonderful to me. Stay well and get back in the shop when your energy level permits it!
-
Glad to hear some good news here!

This is fantastic news!!

Great news Doc! It is very nice indeed to read something so positve and uplifting.

a great candidate for medical Mary Jane!

You do know that it comes in a pill. I used to do "drug running" - delivery of pharmaceuticals for nursing home patients. That was part of the locked box with controlled items.

Why didn't I think of that? Probably would help if I could get it around here!!!

Pills? No, I actually wasn't aware of that. Should have known, being a health administration professor! Guess I've been too focused on saving the HC system! :P

Go to Michigan they advertise it on the radio & in the paper. Its like no big thing there. They have it at local pharmacies. It's becoming a big industry in Michigan.

Hey CW, good to hear from you! I hope your recovery is complete now. You certainly where put through the grinder with your leg. Work? What's that? I took he summer off, good thing I did. The radiation was worse than the chemo treatments. You'll have to pry my cold dead hands off the steering wheel to get my GT.
I like the idea of donuts on the lawn! Sounds like good fun. I have some neighbors who never mow their lawn, you can terrorize them for me!

i think you beat me healed Doc. i'm still fighting a little patch but it is so good to have you back. i couldn't drive the Mustang i know you love it too much but maybe you could take momma to Fla anyway to DW in Orlando. you both could use a break from all that crap. i'm heading to my 45th reunion next month and then up to Peoria to pick up a new 15" tone ring cab. take care bro.
-
So good to hear you're almost there! Have a safe and fun trip. I am going to Boulder and then Nova Scotia in August to celebrate. For now, pizza and beer at home with friends. Take care!
-
Good one Uwe! Makes me think of the Cream tune "I'm So Glad"!
Is that Malcom from Clockwork Orange?
Sure, the final scene when the conservative government offers him an "adequate job in the administration" if he keeps quiet about the Ludovico treatment "as we are now friends, aren't we?". Cynicism can be so uplifting.
-
Conservatives, bad. Everyone else, good. ;D
We actually changed our celebration vacation from Germany to Nova Scotia because August is vacation time in the Fatherland. So, next year we'll just come over earlier! Gotta see Uwe while we're there. And mingle with the natives of our forefathers.

No worries, Anthony Burgess had a suitably causitic view of lefty liberals as well. The liberal left author whose wife is raped by Alex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBtwpxq3enA
gleefully tortures him even after Alex is - thanks to the Ludovico treatment - a changed man and unable to be violent anymore.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=249MaK8UaIE&feature=related
Clockwork Orange's nihilistic message is that - besides that freedom to be evil is better than subjection to be good - we are all not any better than Alex, just less honest about it. No one gets away unscathed. And that final scene is today probably even more current than it was then.

Congrats, Bill... now stay out of the woods... excluding tonewoods... ;D
For our Suvun bretheren... use the power from the first combined with a 1/4 turn on the exhausts from the second and you're sorted... ;D

Right! Will do Herbie! I'm feeling really good today, nine days after finishing radiation. Having friends over for a party to celebrate. Pizza and beer, woohoo!

Gotta be something highly medicinal in the application of dairy products, bread, hops, barley and friendship. ;)

I'm not entirely sure Al, but I'm gonna run some tests tonight!!! :toast:

Now, if the Sun wasn't setting over the Atlantic, as it has been all week for me, and rising over it, I'd happily join you, and Scott, and whomsoever else could make it, and happily crack a few with you all, in your honor... ;)

After all the radiation treatment, do you still need electrical power feed at home or are you now self-sufficient for the next 10 years? ; - ) All your basses might become active now too ...

Thanks guys! Time is a great healer too. Uwe, I was wondering what hummmmm w when I played!!!

There's a well known drag queen in Denver who goes by Nuclia Waste. http://www.nucliawaste.com/
Maybe Bill can become "Nuclia Bass"!

You can call me anything as long as I'm around to hear it! Everyone I bump into these days are amazed at how good I look and how well I'm doing. Most folks say "It's great to see you!" I've taken to replying (to my wife's chagrin), "It's better to be seen than viewed!" It always gets a laugh or groan. Hey, I'm realistic. Life is short and I just got a real blessing. But death is inevitable and we all should be prepared for it. You can't run away from it, it's part of life.

Hey Al, are you around home this weekend? Got a gig maybe? We're going to Boulder to see my wife's brother. How far away are you?

And guard spiders
(http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/cata1d0/ME/P1060267.jpg)
Ever since that spider moved in with the reconvalescent (in radiant health again, no less) it has shown a somewhat disturbing growth rate ...

No to mention the - ever-popular with the neighborhood kids - family guinea pig.

Undeterred by all this, Herr Doktor Bassman is a true Kraftwerk of health now.

We're only 40 miles - and yes, I'll be here. Let's PM....

Not even sure I want to ask how Al knows that... ;)
Hopefully the pair of you (not Al and Ms Waste :o) get together...

I suspect Al is into more than surf music!
Not sure I'd want to meet Ms waste!

A) True!
B) Me neither - with all due respect.

It's OK Al, we're all pretty open minded round here... (in a slightly deeper than normal voice...) ;D

What is that picture????
-
i'm guesing steve martin and john candy
-
Yeah, it's the only still I could grab from the video scene where Steve Martin realizes John Candy has his hand parked between his buttocks. Pretty fuzzy. I need to find a better website....
OK better image....

Here's the URL to see the scene... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/mv-qRGa/those_arent_pillows/
"See that Bears game last week?"
"Yeah, helluva game, helluva game..."
Nice take on attempting to demonstrate manliness.
I think I need to abandon that thought.

I say... we've gone slightly off thread here, what...?

Well, life goes on as they say and in this case it's Dr Bassman's life, so much the better. I for one prefer blurry gay bed scenes of questionable taste in his thread to tasteful obituaries! He probably does too.

Amen, I prefer the "Art of being seen" rather than viewed!

Hi All,
Been a while since I posted here. I had my post-treatment CT scan and blood tests this week and all is normal, no signs of cancer! ;D I am so grateful for the doctors and nurses who took care of me, all of the folks I know (including you guys here) who kept me in their thoughts and prayers and God for making this all possible. The docs will keep a watchful eye on me from now on, but all is good at present! So, we'll be partyin' tonight for sure! :toast:
Thanks again for your support!
Blessings,
Bill

Wahoo!
-
Good to hear, Bill. I was getting concerned since you haven't been around much in the past couple of weeks.
-
Great news Bill!!!
-
+8 ;)
(8's an infinity sign that slipped - won't let me put one there)
-
Thanks guys! Yeah Dave, I've been a little absent. After finishing radiation and feeling sick for 2 weeks afterward and two vacations in August, I had tons of stuff to catch up on in the yard and outside. Now I'm back to work full-time and it's been crazy. Hopefully, things will settle down in a couple weeks. I haven't been in my shop in months and only check in here once a day if I have time.
I'll be more visible after the fall rush of school starting settles down. Life is good!
-
great news, Bill!
-
Wonderful news, Bill. I'm really happy for you and yours!
-
great to hear Bill.
-
Glad to hear you're getting back to normal operation Bill - meaning too darn busy. Be well and keep us posted.
-
So happy for you. Great news.
-
Great news- glad you beat it!
-
Thanks everyone!!! I am one fortunate guy! ;D
-
Thats great news Doc, glad to hear it.
-
Hard to believe I started this thread Dec. 12, 2011. My surgery was a year ago January 20th. Man, time does fly!
Just thought I'd update things again. I had my check up blood tests and CT scan this week and all is normal, no signs of cancer! If I can remain that way one more year, I'll really be doing well and might be cured after all. One day at a time! Thanks to all of you for your support and caring. Blessings!
-
wow thats great!whatever you are doing, keep it up.
-
Right on - good to hear!
-
music to our ears!!!!
-
Thanks guys. Great docs, drugs, nurses, faith and love! Every new day is a blessing.
-
This is my favorite update today. That's great for you (and yours), Doc! Keep it up, my friend.
-
To (mis)quote Dr John: Must have been the right place AND the right time!
-
Great to hear Bill!!
-
Kick ass!
-
Good news! Funny how time flies faster the older we get.
-
Thanks so much guys, it is great to share good news! Lots of folks have commented on the timing of things and I have to agree. Everything seemed to be right! As for time passing quickly as we get older, I have really noticed it this year.
I'm gonna try to slow things down a bit by retiring in June. We'll see how that works out! ;D
-
Glad to hear it, Bill. I'm a few years off from retirement but some days it looks more attractive than it used to.
-
Live every day like it's a bonus...
