I gave the final drawings the ok early this week. The Badbird II will fit all post 1989 Gibson and Epiphone Thunderbirds or any bass with a three point bridge. The Badbird II  is a two piece 60s style bridge. The bridge will provide greater sustain and better tone due to a greater angle of string break across the saddles and due to the tailpiece no more string windings on the saddles.

Good for you. It'll have a bigger potential market than your original Badbird.

Interesting!
Hope there is enough demand for your Badbird II now that the Babicz is also a good replacement for the three point bridge.

The Babicz is so dang large though... also, I haven't seen one up close yet - does it contact the body wood like the Hipshot Supertone?

Not as large as that Hipshot monstrosity.
And yes. Contact, hence the name full contact bridge  ;)

But back to Scott's bridge now.

We need pics Scott!

Yeah, so the Babicz is out for me as an option.  Eagerly awaiting details/pics of the Badbird II design.

I've had a Babicz and found it really uncomfortable for palm muting playing pick style. It's the only bridge with which I've ever had this problem. Plus the 2 pieces are so much more elegant!

For the record my Babicz was on a Gretsch, so the model may have been different...
Go fast, take chances.

The Hipshot looks bad on a Thunderbird, hanging over the edge of the center section. Not bad on an EB-0/EB-3. But a two-piece Badbird will be better looking.

Pictures once I have one in hand and the legal mumbo jumbo is complete.

I'm thinking that this question is as plain as the nose on my face, but am I correct in assuming that as the bridge is a two part design, the bridge itself it will fit on the two rear bolts of the old three pointer and the string anchors will require the body to be drilled?

Thanks
