Al,

No chocky and beer  :puke:

I think I'm the only one here that actually trims the poodle  :o

Mark...I get it, porters and stouts aren't everyone's favorites, but we've steadily gravitated that way over the past few years.  The trick is to add flavors like chocolate without making them nasty-sweet or obnoxious.

But if you're of the IPA persuasion, we gotcha covered too. Ferxample, this stuff will open your nasal passages:

Craft brews are kind of the single malt equivalent for beer drinkers.

Left Hand Milk Stout from Colorado is good, especially on Nitro.
Cadillac Mountain Stout from Bar Harbor Brewing Company is one of my faves.
You can't go wrong with a Young's Double Chocolate Stout either.
Favorite all around brewery at the moment for me is Jack's Abby out of Framingham Mass. They bring craft brewing to lagers, something you don't see much of among the vast sea of microbrewers specializing in ales.

I've had Ranger IPA!  Will definitely try that choc porter as well.  I did occasionally pick up Breckenridge Vanilla Porter - until our thread about the origins of vanilla (thanks LBO!  :-\).  That LH Milk Stout is great as well.

I'll be enjoying some Coronado Brewing Co. Blue Ridge Coffee Stout in a few whilst installing closet organizers this afternoon (almost makes it fun... well, not really)  :vader:

I'm going to lose any cred I've built up, but I'm a pilsner and lager guy. Kingfisher and Peroni are more my speed.

And I've let my manscaping go to hell this winter.

In the right surrounding Peroni is just fine!

Manscaping is optional,  Somewhere there are some rather disturbing shots of Ritchie Blackmore.........

Hey, I've seen some pretty awesome amber lagers and other variations recently.  One brewer here mentioned that there was a big IPA craze over the last couple of years, although it's subsiding a bit now. In the right mood, I can drink highly hopped beers, but usually I'm not in that camp. Pilsners can be tasty in the right situation, too...but I haven't seen a lot going on with them in this area.  Research into some of the new craft lagers would be rewarding.

See Kenny, we both like Scotch  ;D
You just need to try some Bowmore 12 year, or MacAllan 12.

Indeed, Ma'am, both are fine Malts, and MacAllan has recently passed through these portals, just as the Laphroaig is on it's last dram... I still have five of dad's special reserve, all of which are 20 to 30 years past bottling, and one is no longer in production... a distillery gone dark forever... could anything be quite so sad... got to be special occasions to broach one of those though... in '11 I opened a 1972 12 yr old Talisker in his memory, having passed on in '01 ...

Shaved squirrel...? :o Al... how could you...! next you'll be telling me people eat them too...!

Anyway, distractions are dangerous and I got distracted and have we seen this before... I think we might have but I need to be sure...

Oh, I don't wish to anger Uwe. I am arguably the biggest  Purple fan in all the land, but Ren Fair Ritchie is comedy gold.

I'm currently putting a dent in a bottle of Mac 12.

You won't anger him. Ribbing him about RB and/or DP is fair game.
