Dumb threads on the "other" forum
« on: April 17, 2013, 05:53:10 PM »
So, I went to the other forum for the first time in a long while.
The total number of idiotic threads is amazing, so I decided to start a list of potential threads here. Please add to this list as you see fit. :)
1. Show your basses with broken TRCs here
2. Show your basses with factory paint runs here
3. The "I repainted my bass" club part 109
4. If you repositioned your strap buttons show pics here!
5. The "I want to buy a non-Fender bass which sounds like a Fender bass" thread
6. The crappy bassists with expensive gear club (this one is actually a real thread)
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

Most threads over there can best be summed up as 'Tell me how to spend Mommy's money.'

I'm in for #6!

And in the end I Always search for the sound and feel of my '76 Bird in every bass. I can make a list of about 100 basses I played which didn't sound like it?

There's little about anal sex there too. That really ruins it for me. I like a forum to fondly embrace, even engulf all the directions a member would like to go.

Hmmm? Maybe I should start a new poll. Which is better Jazz bass, Precision bass or anal sex? Wonder how long it would take to get removed?
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Hi-end boutique, obviously, full electronics package, and maybe a light show built into the neck...?

Realistically, only a 12-string will do. People will then be camping at your doorstep to have you at their sessions.

Yes, but it MUST be fretless and not a simple octave doubled four string and have a fretboard wide enough to land an airplane with ultra-low action and worm-eaten crucifix wood for the body and use an onboard Behringer impulse modelling preamp into the latest QSC power amp and speaker boxes from whichever cabinet maker spends more time trolling there than actually building anything.

How can I make my hideously ugly mutant singlecut buckeye burl 9 string sound like a vintage Precision?
