If you have noticed i have been not very active lately.  Been a tough year so far.  Got laid off from GE after 15 years on Dec 15.   Then i starting having some throat issues in late Feb.  Turns out my left tonsil had swollen to about 3 times it's normal size.   Had it removed on my birthday 03/07.  Few days later i got the call confirming it had a cancerous tumor in it.  Because of where you tonsil is, it touches lots of parts of your head and neck,   many of which they cannot operate on without major issues.   Been running back and forth to Sloane the last 3 -4 weeks in preparation.  Well today I finally started my treatment.   Scheduled 33 days of radiation and 6 days of chemo scheduled for days 1, 2,  16, 17,  31, 32.

Today was intense and I really  had no idea what to expect as the chemo was a five plus hour process.  But i feel ok and just ate a normal meal.  Supposedly I will feel really crappy as the cummulative effects can be debilitating.  All I can say is day one is over,   only 32 treatments to go and i will beat this damn thing.

WISH ME LUCK!

PS - just bought a very nice Lakland hollowbody bass to help let me continue to play with 3 plus bands for the next 8 weeks or so as it is nice light bass and soungs pretty good too... Only 2 gigs effected and backup ready.   Just no singing for a while,  maybe 3 months or more after,   oh well I get to take it easy.
