anyone have experience with HP laptops?

I've owned a little 10" HR netbook for 4 years - it hasn't missed a beat, running Vista.

I still have my HP Pavilion laptop.  It's a WinXP system, and about 7 years old.  I had issues with the original hard drive (back then HP was found to be putting refurbed drives in new computers), and another breakdown, but it runs pretty well, even when crippled.  I finally had to replace it when the screen died.  I was running an external monitor for a few months, and finally decided to replace it.  I got an ASUS laptop that has been pretty good for a year now.  The old HP is sitting on my printer stand, where I found out how to network it in, making it an extension of my current system.

Thanks for all the replies and help.
I first decided to get an HP Desktop (Windows-8, 1TB HDD, 10GB Ram, 1GB Video memory, etc.)
Got it home and started the backup process (17,000 songs) and 130GB of Videos.
By morning, the Desktop was in a boot-loop. It took me about an hour, but I isolated the cause to one of the 4GB RAM sticks.
I was not allowed to just bring back the bad stick and get it replaced.  I had to bring back the whole unit and exchange.
Deleted everything off the HDD, pack it up, get there, and...no more HP Desktops, but I am curious about the iMac being shown to me. It seems to do everything I need.  No extra SW needed for video editing.  A little pricey ($1200), but I told the guy "Ok, you sold me.  I'll take one" - Well, they had none in stock and no stores will have them until Dec 2012.
Then why bother demonstrating the damn thing if you don't have any?
I went to another store and bought an HP Laptop (i7, 750GB, 8GB Ram, Windows-7, etc.) and it rocks.

BTW, Win-8 is just about everything I hate about this marketing-at-all-cost world - go to load/edit a video of your HDD, and the OS takes you to a Netflix App, where you can rent movies.  The OS is one gigantic marketing tool.

Anyway, thanks for the help - I like HP and I'm glad I got the laptop now.  Easy to move between the music room and my office and outside by the pool.  Sorry about hijacking the thread.

As far as Photobucket is concerned, since I started fresh, I went back up there and it asked me if I wanted the new version or the old.  I opted for the new to see if I would experience the same issue as Scott.  Under the new version of PB, I can still copy IMG codes without a problem
