Scott, if you're referring to the Image Code side-bars that you were able to click on and "copy" an image and import into a thread, you can get those Image Codes by moving your mouse pointer directly over the picture itself (wait a second or two), and then click in the "IMG Code" field.  That field should show "copied" briefly, then return to the thread and paste the code in.

Screw it I switched back to the old PB.

Windows 8 is official tomorrow. I wonder how many will say the same about that.

You must have had some kind of beta. I don't have any option to change back to any previous version. Mine is the same as it's been for awhile now, as Steve said, just mouse directly over the image and copy the IMG code.

From reactions I've seen, once you figure out how to find the Start menu and other old functions, using it isn't a problem, and it's fast.

I plan to upgrade my Vista laptop to W8 since the cost is only going to be $40.

All I know is that I hate Win 7.

I've had zero problems with Win 7 which I have on my desktop. It's a lot more secure than XP.

And although Vista is sluggish and slow to boot up, I really haven't had problems with it. By the time I bought the laptop, I knew to disable UAC. Early adopters had problems, and a lot of that was because Intel allowed HP to sell computers as "Vista ready" when they knew the processors didn't meet the minimum requirements.

Funny how the Win7/8 topic came up...I've decided to get a new PC - this one is an old Dell 2400/XP and I can barely type (as I type this).
I've been trying to record/edit/post my kid's music videos via this old goat, it has become clear that I am fighting a pretty difficult battle - why not throw some $ into the economy.
As I started some research into laptops this week, the Win7 or Win8 (released to us marionettes - teacher's pets - tomorrow) factor has been thrown in.
My wife and kids all have Win7 and it has been flawless - I think.  Usually when something screws up, I'm the first to know (and usually the cause).

Anyway, I just need something to process video (from both MiniDV tape as well as digital - MicroSD cards, etc.).  I've used many different Video Editing SW packages (for XP), and most have the same basic set of tools. Having an interface into the mixing board in the music room will allow us to record directly onto the laptop and then upload.

I'm looking at Toshiba and HP - anyone have experience with HP laptops?
The rest of my family all have Toshiba laptops (i3, i5 and AMD) and they have been pretty reliable so far.

Didn't mean to derail, but there really no derailments on LBO, just interruptions, followed by flashbacks, followed by a segue into railroads or ham-fisted idols, followed by the German contingent telling us how it really went down. :)

I'm happy with my HP desktop, no experience with their laptops. My laptop is a Toshiba. Both have been reliable.

We bought my daughter an HP Sleek Book when she graduated from college last May.  I think the one she wanted was 13".  It wasn't cheap but it's so powerful that the damn thing levitates on it's own.  :o  My daughter loves it - she has all kinds of crap running at the same time and has had zero problems since day one.   I'm hoping that this one will get her through grad school.

I've found Win7 to be much more stable and dependable - and smarter - than XP or especially Vista, which was simply glitched.

Most of our computer gear is HP; my daughter has an HP netbook which has saved her a number of times - great little box if you stay within its capabilities.  My "Around the house" laptop is a 5-year-old 17" HP that I upgraded to Win7 - it runs just fine.

Not sure I'll change to Win8 unless I find some real advantages.

Vista was as good as Windows ME  7 is good for me.  Not changing until i have to.

Serial Dell users here - daughter's on her second Inspiron LT and she bashes them to death - my first Inspiron I bought in '03 and retired (due to cost of replacing the batteries) about 18 months back - this one is Win7 and pretty happy - SWMBO has a Dell workstation and has been reasonably trouble free too...

Daughter recommends and LED screen whatever it is and I agree, much better than my LCD variant...
