Flying V bass on the way :)
« on: April 14, 2012, 08:06:22 AM »
I have wanted a V bass forever, since I first saw the Ibanez R&R Sr. V bass. Gibsons '80s offering was horrible and despite looking cool they sat for years in the store, I remember seeing NOS at the HOG in '86 when I came home from Boston and they still sat there for years after that. I secured  one of the 2011 V basses for Uwe when they first came out and have wanted one ever since. The best Flying V bass ever made imho. MF has them 15% off, 12 months interest free and free shipping so I took the plunge. Should be here next week. Yeah I was looking for a new light weight amp rig but bass trumps amp every time ;) http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/gibson-limited-run-flying-v-electric-bass-guitar/h71177000001000#review

Hope it works out for you.

I see that one reviewer gave it a bad review in part because MF's description says it's long scale and it's actually short scale. They definitely need to correct that.

Yeah they should correct that but I know that it is a shorty. Uwe's is a very nice piece of work, especially when compared to the '80s turd. Will I use it? Most likely not but it's scratching a itch I have had for a looooooooong time. I also think down the road it will be worth something.

(size) 10 Safety Tips

1. NEVER point flares at someone
2. NEVER allow children access to flares
3. NEVER use flares unless there is grave and imminent danger to life or a vessel
4. NEVER use flares that are past their expiry date
5. NEVER keep expired flares as spares or back-ups
6. ALWAYS keep tough protective gloves in your flare pack to protect you hands
7. ALWAYS read the instructions printed on the flares before use
8. ALWAYS hold flares downwind and at arms length to prevent burning debris being blown back at you
9. ALWAYS fire flares downwind at an angle of 10-15 degrees. They will naturally curve back into the wind to burst overhead
10. Once flares have been used put the hot empty case in a bucket of water to cool down.

That pelmet you're wearing could be barely called "flared", more "flashed"...

Touche Kenny, I had to look pelmet up in Webster's online.

Thanks for trying to raise the collective I.Q. here  ;)

I try my best, Ma'am, but I'm so buried in research at the moment I feel a bit of a stranger round here...  ;)
