Looks great, sounds great. Good job.

Stjofön Big

Looks great, and the same for the sound. And I really dig the way that guy is playing The Who's tunes. And then I come to think of John E, and what an imaginative player he was!!!

ThunderBucker

Wow Jon, outstanding playing!  Blue Eyes has always been a fave of mine.  It has a kick ass bridge.

As a misbegotten guitar player, I have a hard time doing representative bass clips for my pickups,  it is very nice to see them in the hands of someone who can do great things with them.

Thanks for making my pickups and Cataldo's basses sound so great. Tho I suspect that if I handed you a 2X4 with old banjo strings on it, you'd make that sound great too.

Mr ThunderBucker, thank YOU for making this dream a reality for me. I built a FenderBird myself a few years ago, and I was never satisfied with the Gibson Ceramic Humbuckers on it. Once I found the JaeBird and that it had Replica 66 T bird P/U's, I was SOLD. These pickups are EXACTLY the sound I was looking for! Can't say enough good things about them really..

All you folks reading this thread, really need to check these basses/pickups out. Worth every penny I paid for them!!!

Excellence all round... John, Carlo and Steve... (tips the hat and leaves by the side door...)
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

I am beyond jealous. Wow. Great playing of a great instrument.

Here's the new Bridge Tailpiece  PROTOTYPE 2...still a little rough but functional.

3/4" x 1/2" aluminum angle and plywood (3/4" and 1/4") channel

1/4 " channel base/reinforcement fits inside the 1/2" x 3/4" angle which as been cut down slightly on the 1/2" leg width so the channel bears directly against the body.  It gets tacked in with superglue and drilled thru for the mounting screws

Same bridge I've been using with individual height/length adjustment, don't have an uncut one to show.

Saddle carrier gets cut narrower after being sized to fit inside 3/4" I.D. channel.  Plenty of adjustment if bridge is located properly.

Carrier with saddles and channel

In place, screws are too big.  I have smaller ones, took the pictures for me to realize they're better.

Need to make the next one for ThunderBucker's Epi FenderBird and get his input. Because this bridge fits flush against the body it's easy to get low action with minimum neck angle.

I didn't realize you were making your own bridges. That's really slick.

'66, no subtlety here!  I prefer the '63 but am in a definite minority.  ThunderBucker Max is on the way, we'll see how that does.  It's a bit darker and louder than the '66.

iamthatguy32

Wow. Those new bridges really look great! I can't wait to have my ducks in a row so I can order that JAEbird I've been wanting.

Wow Carlo another shinny happy bass.
I thought you had airbrushed the trees on there until I recognised a reflection.
Beautiful!
