She's been suspended indefinitely.

I think she could use a good spanking... any volunteers?  ;)

I saw the footage last night...the hair pull was the final one of a number of things.  I recall seeing an egregious trip and an elbow to another player's back.  If I were the coach she'd be out for the season with a warning that she'd be off the team if any infractions occurred next season.  I have no patience with this stuff; if you can't win clean, don't play.

I think that was a season-ending loss for the team anyway.

She's a junior so it could affect her for next season.

It's been a while since I've seen anything that flagrant.

Don't know a great deal about ladies footie, and haven't been to any football match since 1989... used to hold a season ticket for a UK team called West Ham United and was a keen follower of the sport, but it became a "business" and lost it's soul...

Chap on the right was an England star in his day; on the left was a "soccer" hardman who moved into films... this was his most notorious moment... never got booked for it...

He does not even rank in this list...

A team I used to enjoy watching, and saw all of the men listed play, scored five times on this list... ;D

At least the diving in the women's game is genuine.

One has to wonder if it will cost her her scholarship?  It should.

Here's a comparable 50 toghest list of US sports...including such players as Jim Brown, Jackie Robinson and Dick Butkus.  I didn't go through all 50 photos, but I'd bet money that the much-feared Ray Nitschke and Chuck "Concrete Charlie" Bednarik are on  the list.

Repeat offender of the worst kind, she obviously doesn't even think about it.

Edit: But the pony tail pulling was in retaliation for an attempted wedgie the dark haired player tried to pull on her just seconds before. That said, Lambert had fouled/tumbled her first.

Which career path will she take: pro wrestling or roller derby?

I suspect she has a fine career ahead with Senator Blutarski!  (Ref: end credits of Animal House)

From Dan Daly of the Washington Times:

"Amazingly, it wasn't until the 76th minute that the officials gave Elizabeth Lambert a yellow card. Of course, the only player who's ever gotten a red card in women's soccer, from what I understand, is Lizzie Borden.

"Elizabeth is banned from practices, games and conditioning drills indefinitely, her coach announced. Yeah, but something tells me the next time she plays, the game will be on pay-per-view."

From FanHouse columnist David Whitley:

"We do not condone such behavior unless it's at a debutante ball, but the video became an Internet sensation. People who'd normally prefer a colonoscopy over soccer — meaning 99.67 percent of all Americans –- were transfixed by Lambert's lack of sportswomanship."

She had to work hard for that yellow card, the poor girl. If she'd been a guy in a European game, she'd have seen red quite a bit earlier.

Favre retired- then UNretired and came back to play for the Minnesota Vikings, an arch-rival of the Packers.  His team has beaten the Packers twice this season and are 7-1.  definitely one of the best teams in pro football.

As did a football code older than Rugby, Gaelic football and even the the FA itself that is played in my country. This is the first year in my life (apart from when I lived overseas or was too young to remember) that I haven't gone to at least one game. My team was started in 1870 and has an amazing history, it just a pity that the game has evolved into something unwatchable.
