And now this... Two 1975 AZG doublenecks - 4080 and 362/12

SeanS

Bloody Hell!, just wait though this may be where we find that 4080's aren't so rare .
Note the smaller body on this one, very nice proportions.

Dave W

Wow, beautiful. And verified by Dale Fortune.

These ought to fetch the BIN or an offer close to it.

ilan

The 4080 needs white guards.

ilan

Thanks Dave, I didn't notice that...

"My name is Dale Fortune. I worked at the Rickenbacker Guitar Factory from 1972 through 1976. I remember when we did this special run and build of these instruments. They were hand built in the woodshop as a special order. I personally did a lot of the wood working and binding steps on both instruments. I also made and fitted the top nuts, side dot markers and drilled the tuning machine holes in all 4 necks. These were built in the days when most everything was done by hand. You have a very nice and rare set of Rickenbacker double neck instruments. Dale Fortune"

The 4080 needs white guards.

How come, I thought all 4080's had Black gaurds/truss covers.

ilan

You are probably correct, some (possibly most?) 4080's had guards in contrasting color from the binding. Still, I'd swap them for white, in my opinion Azureglo looks best with white guards, white binding and chrome hardware.

SeanS

Yes I see and +1 on the white for the Azureglo, I suppose if you had ordered a 4080 you could have white perspex if you liked. It's one of those Ric things I like, where each product is just a little different and it seems similar, but there's always one small change, take the 480 guitar, they never had triangle inlays, etc, and then of course the black truss covers for the 4080.

Rhythm N. Bliss

If someone gets both of those they're gonna have one helluva Happy Christmas altho it'll be a Blue Christmas!! :D

Without the switch tip, I dunno......

That reduces the value by at least $3000. Offer him $800.

weekend warrior

That one belongs to me now  even with the switch tip lol
