He doesn't claim it's walnut, hard to say. Headstocks do look they have a burgundy tinge, if his camera captured the color accurately.

The seller has added new pics, Paul was right, it's a Burg.

S/5 in Silver... don't recall seeing another. Starting at $1,600.

That one sure looks like it's going green.

Likely, but then the whole photo is green due to poor white balance setting on the camera. If we can assume the slat board should be white, you can get the idea. Fluorescent lights are on the greenish side of the spectrum, so correcting with white balance control on the camera can counteract that.

That said, the clear coat over Rickenbacker Silver often goes yellowish, lending a greenish cast.

The predecessor of the Shadow? A '74 Jetglo with checkerboard binding, factory black pickguard and Plexi TRC, and gap-tooth bridge base plate.

A stunning 1968...

Nice example of late 50's-60's Autumnglo, which in that era was very dark Fireglo. In the 70's Autumnglo was changed to matte baby poop brown.

Mono output, BTW.

'96 in solid Red... not metallic Ruby, not BT - just fire engine red with chrome... I love it. Must be what they called "reversed trim".

Denis

Wow, that should have flashing lights and a siren on top!
Is that an unusual color?
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

Very unusual. Red came standard in black trim. If you wanted white/chrome you could special order "reverse trim" but apparently very few did.

Dave W

Many of the early to mid 90s red w/BT sat in stores for a long time. And not just the basses. Friend of mine bought a red 360 at a ridiculous price after it had been in store stock 3 or 4 years.

Denis

It's a beautiful bass but I can see why they sat around for a while. It's almost too much red.

Found an old pic of my friend, this must be from about 1997. It sure did stand out in person, even more than in the photo.

Looks a million times better with the white/chrome stuff. Was that called Ferrari red? Or was it just based on Ferrari red? I thought there was some connection...

Dave W

IIRC it was just called Red.
