Lists always create controversy, and I'm sure this one will too, even though it's in fun.

The Ten Types of Music No Man Should Own

OldManC

Damn! I was fine 'til she got to number 10...

You have to read the descriptions though. I thought I was good til 10 also, but I got cut far sooner than I expected.

I agree with OldmanC though. "Alive" is the kind of record EVERY man should own.

That list was worthless though, the fact that there wasn't any Techno (Not Techno as in Moby but Techno as in Hardstyle, Gabber or Hardcore) included in that list spoils it for me.

The Ethel Merman Disco Album will get cha every time!  ;D

What if you have the Lilith Fair DVD, but only stare at it on pause during Liz Phair's segment?  Does that count?

I think I was around 12 when I got Kiss Alive II, so I am totally cool.  Who is this chick anyway?

If the Ethel Merman Disc popped up in the thrift shop, I would snag it.  Maybe not as good as Ella Fitzgerald singing Sunshine Of Your Love.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

I was 12 when Alive II was released so maybe I'm ok too. I totally remember that Village People album cover but I was never in danger of owning it...

I was 17 when Alive II came out, and I sat in the first row at one of the MSG shows. I might as well have the Ethel Merman album.

What is so bad about Carousel? they say original Broadway cast or national tour, or an artist who owns any copy. Does that include the movie soundtrack? Didn't the Beatles do a song from Carousel? How can you tell if they owned a recording? My sister had the movie soundtrack, so I became quite familiar with it.

I like the cover art displayed for the first choice, but I don't get what Cher has to do with Greek or Latin etymology.

Haha! Unless you are twelve. :toast:

There was a short period in my life when I thought Kiss was cool.
I was twelve.

I remembered a comedienne about 15-20 years ago who used to do a quick bit in her routine called Ethel Merman Does AC/DC, she would belt out a few bars of Highway to Hell in Ethel's style.

I couldn't remember her name, so I tried Google. Still didn't find it.

But I did find this.  :o
