First I would like to thank John aka barklessdog for the pattern of the extreme cutaway Fenderbird body and pickguard.  Just laying out parts and making patterns at the moment. I have to go out and get some poster stock to make patterns from the drawings. After that I'll start working on the bodies. It was fun to lay out the parts !

Hey Scott,  what are the dimensions on the piece from Pittsford?  I might need a blank soon and I was curious to know what they carry in wide pieces like that.  Did they cut it to your length without hassling you?  Sometimes the yards don't like to cut long boards.

Black with a maple block neck would be cool.

This one is going to be just like John's black one , block inlays would be cool though. Got some sanding done today, next I have to run it through the planer.

At first I was going to paint mine black, then I wanted Lake Placid, but turned out baby blue, but one I saw how nice the grain was I just could not go black, like originally wanted.

I think black is best otherwise

That would be the $92 mighty mite neck I bought off ebay. Nice bit of wood for the $

That FB is looking great!

I've been considering doing a Warmoth Fenderbird, but I know it wouldn't be a match like this one. Any chance I could get a copy of that template?

I'm looking forward to more in-progress pictures, shes a beaut.
Are you real, Frank!?

1 5/8" ( thanks for the correction) same as Fender and the same as Johns FB, no neck dive issue that's for sure. Us Gibby players are used to skinny bodies !
