I'm a hoarder and prepper. The end is nigh. I have replacement pups of pretty much everything Gibson ever did.

I only have a ~1970 EB3 bridge mini humbucker and a 5-ply guard, if I ever want to convert my EB-0L to a 3L.

Email me your postal address, Ilan, you can have mine (if I can find it!). It's been collecting dust in the parts bin for too long.

That - for lack of  a better word - is gruesome. Worst idea since ...

They always have these weird ideas in the Middle East.  8)

Colorblind isn't enough, you need to be completely eyeless to tolerate this.

No basses today in the Mod Collection restock.

A one-off LP bass done like this could be nice:

At the Fender Custom Shop Event at the NAMM some years ago, Fender showed a Strat which was half new and half heavy relic.

For obvious reasons, Fender should not be the gold standard here!

And if you want to do something like that, do it right - like an American quilt:

Sandberg initially presented that bass ("California Patchwork") only as a demo (to visualize their design variations in an eye-catching way) on a fair, but there was an immediate commercial demand for it. The way this is done, I actually like it. A harlequin bass, why not, you probably wouldn't play it in a death metal band. The additional work that by necessity goes into a composite Frankenstein bass like this, actually makes it quite expensive: EUR 3.000.

And thank God it's not relic'ed. I've never understood why people want to make new stuff that has not been used look old or why they have issues with an instrument no longer shiny and new, but showing natural signs of wear and tear. Either is fine by me (work- and playability is key), but the creation of an illusion that is neither ... :puke:

Weathering (relic'ed) is for model trains, not bass guitars!

Unless of course, if it's the real deal.

Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

Yes, it opened. Bad, but not as bad as the Mod Shop Les Paul.

It would take a lot to do that.

That'a meshuggah, Ilan! Where did your otherwise immaculate taste go?

Those contraptions are butt-ugly.
