Why is everyone obsessed with Uranus ?

Finding out more about Uranus is important, because quite a few exoplanets seem to be somewhat similar, or at least like Neptune. Ice giants like this seem to be fairly common, so if we can get to the bottom of how the ones in our own Solar System work, we might learn a bit more about planets elsewhere. That is one of the biggest goal in modern astronomy.

Getting to the bottom seems to be the common theme of this thread.

"Uranus is an unincorporated tourist spot along historic Route 66 and is known for quirky attractions, including a fudge shop and the world's largest belt buckle."
Well at least they have that.

I like his use of the term "Fuddy Duddy Squad."  That could also be used to describe lots of other people objecting to various things that's none of their business.

In other related news, it's likely that Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune once had rings like Saturn long ago.  Plus, Saturn's rings will probably be gone, too, in 100 million years or so.

I have to believe that the people titling and writing these stories are tongue-in-cheek.  It's just too much fun for them to tweak the wording Juuuuust a bit......
