I've liked all the actors playing Bond.  Pierce Brosnan was also good as a spy in "The November Man."  (2014)

Sweden vs England should be a good one. All y'all here from those countries here should start working on your trash talking.  ;D

I guess Alanko and me would be trashing each other then. I'm just glad Sweden has come that far. They have'nt reached the quarter finals since 1994 in U.S.A where they grabbed the bronze medal.

Back home from Stockholm. Didn't have a lot of time to spare but on the way to a restaurant I found a nice store called Hellstone Music. Tons of old Hagstroms of course, many jazz boxes - old Gibson, Levin, Höfner (I actually helped them find the exact model number for one of the archtops, they didn't know Steve Russel's website), played a nice '74 Jazz bass and a sunburst EB2 (yep, still don't like them), but the highlight was a 1960 Höfner 500/1, close-spaced toaster-top pickups, flat back, black binding, dark tort control panel (missing pickguard), rugby tuners, and that "cavern" style headstock fascia. It sounded nice, the neck was okay - not bowed and the action was what you can expect - but what can I say, full-bodied Hofners sound so much better to me.

My favorite sounding small bodied Höfners are the ones with the close spaced neck pickups.

I think they also look better.

They always look a bit cross-eyed to me.

I definitely prefer the way that they look maybe because the look is so retro.  It has nothing to do with Paul McCartney being associated with the Cavern bass, either.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.  I also kind of like that kind of headstock, although it may come across as looking a little too old-fashioned.

How can a bass look cross-eyed?
