Business travel in 10 days. Anything bass-related or otherwise interesting to see there?

Christine

Not quite Stockholm but this place should be worth the short trip to get too

Is that 50 min drive of flight?

Christine

It looks like a flight, sorry I thought it was near Stockholm, a member of the Thunderbird club on Talkbass posted pictures of the place and it looked amazing. Worth mentioning anyway

Umeå is up north. Home of our member Staffan, a/k/a Stjofön Big.

I live in Norway and have not yet been there :-\ I think it's 15 hours by train and 12 hours by car from where I live.
I hear it's amazing, gotta see it some day..

AFAIK there are no dedicated bass only stores in Stockholm. On Södermalm there are some music stores though if you have a couple of hours to spare:
Twang (musicstore/café): https://www.facebook.com/twangstockholm/
Halkan's (been around for at least 40 years): http://www.halkans.com/
Hellstones (close to Halkan): http://www.hellstonemusic.se/
These Go To 11 (lots of pedals):https://tgt11.com/our-shop.html?submenu_id=-1
4Sound (musicstore chain):https://www.4sound.se/sthlm-soder
Tip Top (Nice city/water view in this area): http://www.tiptop.se/

Hey, Ilan! Stop by at Halkan's Rockhouse close to the Medborgarplatsen at Söder. He knows his game. At the same time you could say Hello from Staffan in Umeå. We were in the same band in the middle of the 70's, Linus & His Band. Halkan is a really nice guy!
If you're looking for old vinyl, visit Micke's records at Långholmsgatan 13, also at Söder. Tell him I sent you, and ask for anything by the original Shanes from Kiruna!  ;)

Alanko

I know of one guitar shop, 'Tip Top Musik' in Stockholm. They seem to have a good relationship with Rickenbacker.

Thanks for the advice and tips guys. Hope I'll have a couple of hours to spare.

Enjoy watching the World Cup match between Sweden and Switzerland there too.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

That's happening now (10 min into the game) and I'll be in Stockholm next week...

4stringer77

Aha, I see. Well they won today and if they beat the winner of England and Columbia there's still a chance you might see them play the semi final on the 11th. Have a good trip.

Thanks. I'm going to do short interviews (press junket) with Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson from ABBA and Pierce Brosnan.

4stringer77

Wow Pierce Brosnan. He did a decent job carrying the baton from Timothy Dalton and I'd wager he's the last decent Bond before Danny Craig still I'd consider him a poor man's Roger Moore.
Sweden vs England should be a good one. All y'all here from those countries here should start working on your trash talking.  ;D
