I don't subscribe but I'll look for it at Barnes & Noble. Let me know if you'll need a scan.

I'm excited to let you know The Gibson Bass Book will available in the US soon. The excellent folks of Elderly Instruments will have the book for sale in their shop!

That's great news, Rob. They have a great reputation and seem to do a lot of book business.

I think it was last year when I saw a show on PBS about Elderly. What a cool place. Amazing instruments everywhere and a staff that clearly knows what they're talking about. John Jorgensen of The Hellecasters is not just a regular but gives group lessons at the store!!!

Overall a fine respected establishment. Congrats on having your book there.

Nice break Rob! They've been around forever............

That sort of made me wonder what ever happened to JK Lutherie. John Kinnemeyer was always the best source of guitar related books. For many years he took out a full page add on the back page of the VG. Books & original guitar literature seemed to be his biggest passion. He also found me the telescoping end pin for my first EB-1, along with many other rare parts.

JK has a big eBay store. http://stores.ebay.com/JK-Lutherie He seems to be fresh out of telescoping end pins though.  ;D

Yup! Still at it! I use to visit his booth at some of the Chicago guitar shows I would try to hit back in the day. Nice guy......... The pearloid plastic tuning knobs on my '59 EB-2 were shrinking, (shrinking knob problems are common as things age  :o). I bought (4) original firebird tuners from John to get the nickel tuning knobs off of them. No more shrinking knob problems for this guy!

Got my book yesterday - Wow! I had some things to do so I figured I'd give it a quick skim until I could settle down
and check it out. An hour later I was still "skimming" with hardly a dent in it, everything else on the back burner!

Beautifully done Rob! I am really enjoying it.

P.S. That is quite an impressive a collection Uwe! All the familiars and a slew of never seen(s), for me at any rate.

Rob and Uwe - great stuff, wonderfully executed! :toast:

I have humbly only scavenged what the market at large and prevailing tastes chose to ignore and discard - derelict carrion, nothing more!

Just like vultures, lawyers are good for the wellbeing of the ecosystem, yet both groups are inexplicably disliked!
