Great interview Rob, I like the story of finding your first Les Paul in the music shop broom closet!

Maybe Accu is more precise than Precision.

Haha, yeah that was a weird experience. I had seen it on their website. But when I got there nobody knew where it was. They had totally forgotten about it.
They searched the entire store (a very small one) plus their storage room but couldn't find it. We had to walk two blocks to their other store, which was closed that day. They searched that entire shop too. And eventually they found the bass between the buckets and the brooms...

Lovely interview, Holländer! And vielen Dank for the copious name dropping - my 1.5 minutes of fame as Andy W. predicted.

It's great to see this book catch so much attention, probably the most successful marketing campaign Gibson basses ever enjoyed. You should actually send Henry J. a free copy - and I'm not joking!

Thank you Uwe.
As a matter of fact I gave the guys at Gibson Amsterdam a bunch of books. They would see to it the books were going to Nashville and Memphis.
And one of the names they said they would send one was Henry J's son. Who is also a big shot at Gibson.

Vintage Guitar Magazine asked me to send them a promotional video for their website. But how does one make a video of a book?

My friend Guido van Gerven (Duplo Studio) made an animation of the book flipping through the pages by itself.
I made a lead-in and lead-out. Plus a loop of a Definition Of Madmen song (played on a Gibson basss of course)

Et voilá!

Turned out well!

I miss a Dutch voice-over though.   :)

I hope VG uses that video. It should result in sales.

Haha. Had a version with voice over. But decided against it. It was too cheesy.

Wot?  :-\ Not even something in English with the slightest trace of a Dutch accent along the lines of:

I've been leafin' it thru, my hands are wet on the book ...
