What is a bridge stud?  Do you mean the set screws in a Fender-style bridge?  if so, clear nail polish works fine.
the big ol' bolts on 3 point bridges

Gibson Basses / Re: Ebony board Ripper

I'm gonna eBay the supertone and get a pair of Babicz bridges (they look better) and I think since I mostly play the rear pup I'm gonna put thunderbuckers in the bridge and China buckers in the front. Someone on here said the covers are the same (can anyone verify). That way I save a few bucks. Talked to the guy at Chelsea guitars about doing the work and he gave me a good price and is gonna sell a few things for me on consignment.

ok, i have decided i'm gonna put "Thunderbuckers" in both Rippers. now here is my question i have a Hipshot supertone that i have yet to install, do any of you guys have a bass with both the Hipshot and the Thunderbuckers. (please post a pic)  the bridge is aluminum and i believe  the pups are nickel. i wanna see how they look together. or maybe that new babics bridge? decisions decisions.......

That's what I was thinking when you said aggressive and chrome. Interesting that you describe the Guild pups as aggressive. I had those on a '73 JS II and they were pretty muddy (in a good way). I guess with the Gibson being long scale, different woods, and different pickup positioning, they're bound to sound quite a bit different.
They are a bit muddy but I use a guitar head and yeah what you said about long scale etc. I get distortion with out a pedal. But I'm digging the thunder bird idea. Kinda expensive though

What is the difference between the "s" and the other 66?

maybe i'll just get some TBird pups. i do love the sound of my LPB-1. who makes the most aggressive sounding replicas?

hey, are the thunderblaster pups available separately?

sorry to hear about this, nice guy

these are "baritone guitar pups but may work considering i use a dirty "Lemmy-ish tone" but with more bottom
