Thanks for the help but just reading the info to do the math gave me a headache, way over my abilities.  I am really looking for something pre built with an easy on off. I do have friend that might be able build what I am looking for, have to give him a call. thanks again!

Hi, all of my basses are passive and I just got a Gibson LPB2 that has Bartiloni actives with no on off for the preamp. The signal from the Gibson is so hot I have to turn the input gain to where it just turns on to make the bass useable. I use 3 older amps in my rig and none have the -15db input pad switch for a active bass like newer amps. I can get it to work by rolling the volume back on the bass but there is treble loss. I tried a EH signal pad and that thing really kills the tone, completly worthless. I am looking for a external -15 db pad I can just turn on and off for just when I use the Gibson, any ideas?

That is my bass that was on Craigslist in Ft Collins and in the classified here in May of 2018. Same one I got from FrankieTbird a few years back. It never was posted on www.shoppok.com so I have no idea where that ad came from but that is my pic. It would be very strange that the bass is back in Greeley CO. It sold in June on Ebay and I shipped it to a guy that is in NJ if I remember right.

I have a few autographs, Les Paul, Joe Walsh, Jim Marshall, Lemmy, Stu Ham and a bunch more but most important, the God of Thunder! I met him in the bar at the Anaheim Hilton and he was the nicest guy ever. I went up and thanked him for being a major influence and the quest for "the Tone". When I mentioned "the Tone" his eyes lit up and he removed a brunette from one leg, set me down and ordered up drinks. We talked like old buds about the new amps he was getting, basses, vintage guitars and "the Tone" for quite a while. Absolutely the nicest guy in the world to a awe struck stranger. He signed a napkin and it lives in a bass string pack as it should.

That sucks! My daily driver is a 64 Chrysler New Yorker and in Colorado it is only $170 for 5 years of collector plates and no emissions testing.

I did a candy apple red one like Marks but routed the body instead of the neck heel. It needs to go about a 1/4" deeper and 1/8" wider on each side. If you stay with the original 3 point it needs a thin shim under the neck to get the neck angle right, the original necks heel is tapered but the pocket is flat. When I routed the body I covered the edges of the neck pocket with blue painters tape and went real slow with the router and got a real clean edge with no chipping.

I really want this bass, isn`t $550 more of a realistic price for one of these?

I have never seen one like this before, not a non reverse but a left handed reverse body?

I saw a head with one cabinet in a pawn shop 35 years ago. The guy turned it on and it started on fire so I never got the chance to try one.

the glue was just on the top of the Artec plastic cover to hold on the metal covers that had been added. It was not a factory glue, the pickups are just rectangles of black epoxy so they are still sealed like from the factory.
