That's an "ambitious" price.

That is my old bass. I loved they way it sounded (especially when I had the nickle pickup installed) but couldn't get used to that skinny neck.

Denis

The skinny neck is one reason I find these so much easier to play than the later Series IIIs. He does want a lot for it...
but, as we say in the antique motorcycle world, "they ain't makin' any more of 'em"!

Man I LOVE the skinny neck on mine!!! Honestly I have nothing to complain about on my Bach. It's a great player.

An engineer in one of the top studios in town told me that it was the best sounding bass he'd ever heard. It's probably my poor technique, but around the third set my hand would cramp so bad I had to switch instruments. The only skinny neck I still own is my Triumph. Skinny necks on shorties don't seem to bother me as much.

godofthunder

I'm fine with the thin necks of the series II and the thicker Series III. Sort of like real NRs neck thickness can vary greatly.

I really want this bass, isn`t $550 more of a realistic price for one of these?
If you push something hard enough it must fall over.

godofthunder

I suppose..............but if you really want it whats a hundred bucks? Shot him a offer it's clear the auction is tanking.

In stock configuration with no upgrades and no case, as this one appears to be, I'd say less than $500.

hollowbody

I think I sold it for $450. The pickguard is a quick one that I made when I pulled out the nickel pickup so it's not my best work. Pots were upgraded to CTS.

And the neck moves around a bit. I'd have to adjust it about every two or three months.

Totally agree, and I got a kick out of that "pre-1999" statement too. It's been re-listed at least twice now. Good looking bass. I liked the skinny neck on the one I had.

I'm the one who asked him a question.  For someone who wants that kind of money, he should really know what he's selling.
