Controversy surrounds new Pulaski County newspaper's name (http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Controversy-surrounds-new-Pulaski-County-newspapers-name-493099221.html)
I think "Uranus Examiner" has a nice ring to it! :-*
That mayor(ess) sure spoils it all. Won't vote for her when she's up for orefice again.
Well hopefully when they get all the kinks worked out it will be released regularly.
Look no further for deep probing media.
Ugh, going down this hole again?
The (w)hole reason people stop there is the name, to buy Uranus souvenirs. There's a Uranus Fudge Factory, for pity's sake. Otherwise it would have been nothing but a bump in the road on old Route 66. So I don't see how the newspaper name is a problem.
Will there be be job opportunities at the paper? I can see it now: come apply for our openings at the Uranus Examiner.
The Uranus Probe would have been a good name too.
There is a village called Twatt in the Orkney Isles at the north of Scotland... popular place to take a photo of or by th signs... well... visited there 10 days back... and someone has stolen the signs... all of them...
But Twatt Church is up for sale...
Twatt Kirk (http://www.jeprobertson.co.uk/Twatt%20Kirk,%20Birsay,%20Orkney.htm)
Some folks would do well to loosen up (and have a sense of humor) :-*

So...does this call for a Loosen Up Uranus campaign?

I'll bet it does!
Why is everyone obsessed with Uranus ?
Finding out more about Uranus is important, because quite a few exoplanets seem to be somewhat similar, or at least like Neptune. Ice giants like this seem to be fairly common, so if we can get to the bottom of how the ones in our own Solar System work, we might learn a bit more about planets elsewhere. That is one of the biggest goal in modern astronomy.

Getting to the bottom seems to be the common theme of this thread.
Back to Missouri: sadly, the newspaper mentioned in my first post is closing its doors.

"Uranus is an unincorporated tourist spot along historic Route 66 and is known for quirky attractions, including a fudge shop and the world's largest belt buckle."
Well at least they have that.
I like his use of the term "Fuddy Duddy Squad." That could also be used to describe lots of other people objecting to various things that's none of their business.
Science Says: A big space crash likely made Uranus lopsided (https://apnews.com/d1e2c440af57450ab82b62d035adac61)
In other related news, it's likely that Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune once had rings like Saturn long ago. Plus, Saturn's rings will probably be gone, too, in 100 million years or so.
