The Outpost Cafe / Re: So, what have you been listening to lately?

I can’t stand her!
Her so-called first reactions are totally fake. She pretends to never have heard songs before. And her facial expressions are so studied it’s almost an insult to her audience and to the artists she analyses.
The only good thing is she has a good knowledge of singing techniques..

I've discovered reaction videos on YouTube, and there's one "reactor" who is a professional opera singer, Elizabeth Zharoff. She focuses more than most on analyzing the vocal technique of singers. She does like popular music, she's interesting to listen to, and I've gotten a kick out of her analysis of SRV, the Moody Blues, Chicago and other artists.  Evidently her background is stronger in classical and popular, so there's a lot of older popular stuff she isn't familiar with.

This one is her reaction to You've Lost That Loving Feeling, and IMO it's a good listen.

And another band some of us know...

Here's one of my favorites - her first time hearing SRV:

Epi T-bird on a Frankie Miller song with the Quireboys.

A young Frankie Miller is superimposed in the video.
And apparently Luke Morley (Thunder) has joined the Quireboys recently. Which (for me) makes this band a lot more interesting.

Hadn't noticed that!

That looper thing was just schtick, right? The guitar lick he opened with had a different rhythm to the playback.

G3 behind Chester and Lester. And at about 07:30 Les demonstrates his onboard looper.
