I envy you guys, who seem to know your way round with a piece of wood. ???

No kidding! Everytime you got GAS for a particular bass you just make yourself one.

I agree with Iome, the Wilkinson is the way to go...inexpensive and highly functional plus it'll look "right"
I had a fretless version of this exact bass about 30 years ago...best fretless I ever owned. Wish I still had it!

I know exactly what you mean....oh so much black hardware, plastic and table tops.
Yawn.

I could totally get into a medium scale NR, but a shorty? Not so much.

Just got Field Music's latest release "Plumb" this morning...on my third listen through...
This, in my opinion, is nearly perfect music!

That tone kicks ass and the Geezer rumble reference is spot on. My first thought was "Turn Up The Night", which is a good thing.

Done. Far and away the best in the lineup!

Yep, I agree, one of the best bands I've heard in a long time as well.
Thanks for the heads up, I just bought the album "Measure" from Amazon.
The 10cc (one of my absolute favs) reference is spot on!

I cut mine out, too. Totally superfluous and kinda stupid IMO.

I know that if I'm shelling out $1700 for a bass it had damn well better be all there and functioning
properly. I think that is Scott's point and I don't blame him, whether the "issues" are easily rectified
or not, that's simply too much $ to pay for an instrument that is gonna have to be taken apart and
monkeyed with to make it playable. Just sayin'.

Yeah, Siegler is a mutant! I really enjoy his playing on "Todd Rundgren's Utopia". He's touring with them currently,
they played Atlanta a month or so ago and I had to miss it due to health issues. Boo! >:(

Gibson Basses / Re: Flying V Vs Explorer poll
« on: December 31, 2011, 11:41:47 AM »
That Ibanez is the epitome of Explorers to me. It's not the 80's metal version but the classic looking 50's version, which I've always preferred. Your Blitz covers the 80's metal Explorer look, so if it were me I'd go for the V.

Exactly what I was thinking, you need the V, Dude.

My Hamer B8s came with Dimarzio X2Ns.....I liked 'em for a while
but eventually got tired of the fact that no matter what I did I couldn't
clean up the sound. I replaced them last year with a set of of the Pitbulls
and I have to say it's been quite an improvement. I can still get gritty
when I want or chimey clean. Lots more low end, too.

Looks like a Victory headstock with those tuners. God I'll bet they're heavy! ;)
