I'm favoring this one at the moment.....sounds good with my Hamer 12, too.

I met Jeff Berlin at a NAMM show in Nashville, TN and Kasim Sulton at a Todd show and they were both very friendly and chatty. The guys in Jason and the Scorchers are really nice too....especially Warner Hodges.

.....in the studio on a prog rock tune. This is straight into the board with a DI, not half bad.
This track isn't properly mixed yet, as you can tell, and everything is up and blasting (guitard b.s. :bored:)
But, I wanted to share anyway. Man I love this bass! Thanks, Carlo!

Heavy Horses is easily my favorite Tull......really like JG's playing.
Isn't he on "Bursting Out" as well?

Wow, a quad bass! Cool stuff. What did they actually call those little LP Jr. style basses? I mean the regular 4 string ones.

B04s, descriptive yet unimaginative moniker. Those are hard to find, for me anyway. Been looking for years....I may just have to make my own. 8)

Congrats, Appears to be a fine specimen indeed! That's one of the last things that I have to acquire to get rid of my gas forever.....that, a Hofner Club and an Alembic. ;D

The Outpost Cafe / Re: Anybody seen this?

The wife and I wanted to see a movie one afternoon while this was playing (after it had won best picture) and we were underwhelmed, to say the least, at the selection playing at our local multiplex cinema. After painfully trying to decide which was the lesser of the twelve potentially boring evils we finally agreed that The Artist couldn't be all bad if it won best picture. Boy were we in for a rare treat! Mesmerizing is the first word that comes to mind, also, it's really "sweet" in a not cheesey way. Best mainstream film I've seen in a long time.

I wonder if this was loosely based on Rudy Valentino, 'cause the same thing happened to him when the talkies came about with English not being his first language and all?

The Warmoth necks are way overbuilt IMO.  I'm gonna give one of their 4 string angled, undrilled paddle heads a try.  Scarfed joint, 1/4" fretboard, thick headstock and the 2 stiffening rods should hold 8 strings.  Width is 1-11/16" at the nut, 1/16" narrower than my other Eighters.

That's AFTER I finish your NR, Scott! ;D

I have one of those on hand for a project and I can assure you that it will totally support the tension of an 8 string.
Built like a tank.

Uwe, that was exactly what I was worried about, the neck sticking too far out. Now that I'm aware of the deeper cutaway, I can see the new design provisions in the video....I'm kinda stoked about it again now. If it just looks funny I can get past that, maybe put one of Scott's tailpieces on it to balance it out ;D.

Yep, if that's what they're gonna look like then I'm glad I waited too.
I'd rather have another Orville than that.
