A very sad day for the bass world.
It's not those who write the laws that have the greatest impact on society.  It's those who write the songs.

Two this week, and both too young.  Their music lives on, but we are going to start doing a lot of these threads in the coming years.

Sad. So modern medication or not, his AIDS got him in the end?

Rest in Peace Andy.

Truly my first bass hero, I got "Fire and Water" for my birthday and loved the bass from then on.

Very sad day

Next Saturday there's a solo bass competition in Manchester NH. I was going to bring my EB-3 and dedicate the performance to Jack Bruce. Looks like I'll be playing in honor of Andy as well.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

According to all the reports I've read, the cause of death was not immediately known and "under investigation". This kind of comment always gives me pause - especially when a family member says that she is "shocked":

RIP Andy Fraser. An ex-brother-in-law turned me on to Fire and Water (I always thought All Right Now was Bad Co...) around 1979. As a young (15?) aspiring bass player, I was pretty mesmerized by "Mr. Big". Wonderful player. Too young...
