*Thanks to Mark for directing me to the forum.  I recognize alot of handles! Good to see you guys again*

So I went to the local GC yesterday, my former student works there can get me a good deal on an SG Reissue.  I played it and - damn!  Geezer's ghost was channeling right through my hands! I love the tone of this thing, although the short scale takes a bit getting used to..

I did my on-line research and discovered this:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-SG-Reissue-4String-Bass?sku=517540

The SG re-issue will also be available at MF in Coral Pink Satin next month!  Mark will tell you I've been looking around for "other" brands in this finish and didn't know Gibson offered it.  In fact, I still don't know - I called Gibson customer service and they didn't know anything about it, said it might be a "dealer option."

Anybody "know" anything about this?  Any pics out there of a Gibson in CP?

Oh yeah, and I'm looking for a T-Bird too.   Serious withdrawals since I sold mine a few months ago.   Its like I sold my kid or something - I need it back!

Barklessdog

more coral looking here than the first one- I'm not sure which is correct?

Nice to see you here Dave, FWIW  I'd sure keep an eye on Ebay too, white and yellow to red 'burst ones are there right now at $699. Don't get me wrong I like the pink stuff, but that's half the price. Being a short scale bass it will at least fit into your car tho! :D

Wow, you guys are fast!  Thanks so much for the links....makes.....GAS... stronger... must...resist!  :-X   Its the "Satin" that makes the Coral Pink question linger a bit too.  That last pic looks hot - that's what I'm talking about!

Yes - the faded SG's with the price drop look like great deals too.   And now I've got some additional GAS logic - I want my son to start bass when he's uh - "ready."  Yeah, that's it - I'll play it until he's ready!

;D

If you paint the Faded Red white without sealing it, it will turn pink.

I'm afraid it might turn out more like the pink snow from the Cat In The Hat if I do it...which my son might like, but still.

But that last pic - the more "coral" one - that's what I was thinking it should look like...those are great links, thank you so much.

*WWGP? Would Geezer play a pink bass? *

yeah, but smoking and tripping is all that you do.......

actually we can't say that can we.....

I think the pink is actually a little more pastel than those pics - closer to the second image though from the one I saw in Denmark Street. Mind you all monitors display colour a little differently, so perhaps i'm wrong. I just bought the light blue version, and i'm totally digging it.

Did Geezer Butler play an EB? I always thought he was a Fender man?

the Pink fairies?

The Pink Fairies were a British heavy/progressive/alternative rock group active in the London (Ladbroke Grove) underground and psychedelic scene of the early 1970s . They promoted free music, drug taking and anarchy and often performed impromptu gigs and other agitprop stunts, such as free outside the gates at the Isle of Wight pop festival, the Windsor Free Festivals as well as appearing at the first Glastonbury outing and Phun City.

About the SG Reissues. I was looking at the Ishibashi page a couple of days ago and the more pics I see of the Classic Whites the more convinced I become that the fretboard is Ebony. Could it be like the TB IV they put Ebony boards on the whiteys?
