...incidentally, one of my Dad's favorite jokes revolves around the fact that, in Polish, an alternate word for 'oboe' is 'fagot'[sic].

The bassoon is also called a fagott or fagotto. Isn't there some controversy surrounding the term in England at the moment? Thought I heard the pc police were trying to phase out the word. They don't want people referring to meatballs as faggots any more, or something like that.
