I don't even see a sold listing. That would have been a great deal.

There were 3 other vintage basses listed with same opening bid and same copy from the same seller.  Only the picture and bass name were different.  I kept the tab open for a few hours, when I hit "refresh" it became a listing for Jazz pickups from another seller.

Definitely a scam IMO, wouldn't be surprised if somebody got burned.  2 of the other basses were a '54 Precision and a 60s Jazz, all with the $2K BIN...which was in the copy, not in the main listing.

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

If someone had bitten and got burned, wouldn't there be a completed sale listing? Hopefully these were caught early.

I don't know, Dave.  Wish I'd taken a screen shot of the ad.

The scammers start these auctions for 99 cents and put an email address where you can contact them directly to BIN outside of ebay. All of the info is actually in a picture, presumably to circumvent any keywords alerting ebay that it's fraudulent. A favorite Gibson bass that they use is a natural 59 EB-2.

I've been watching this one, as I've had some good luck straightening out necks. Of course, I've never tried to straighten out a mahogany neck.

Some wood seems to bend a bit by nature :)

There was a slight twist in the AD neck but two years hanging in the shed seems to have sorted that...

One might say that neck was hung well.
