Nice Jazz...

Never heard of NP before this thread... she's a very tall girl...

They can thank Ted Nugent for coming up with their name Kenny.

All right, guys, let's not turn this into a girlie thread.

There is a Boston fan in everyone of us trying to get out. Always liked the escupist lyric too: "I close my eyes and it's tits away!"

There's definitely no Boston fan inside me.

You oughta give 'em a listen. The first two albums are awesome, the later ones are still good, but don't have the same spark. If you only get one, the second, "High As Hell," is the one you should check out. They toured with Mötörhead several times. They're awesome live. I guess I've seen them a dozen times and I've spent many hours talking and hanging out with members of the band.

Corey's brother, Cherokee Parks, played in the NBA. She has a pretty nice pictorial feature (all arty B&W and everything) in the lesbian magazine On Our Backs that she did right after she got fired from Nashville Pussy. She just got married on September 5. Before that, she was married to a former pro-skateboarder, Duane Peters, and played in his band, Die Hunns.

Yes they are, but who cares!

You mean she plays Hos and that is not a Fender at all? That spoils it for me.

Just finished the first one (really subtle cover btw) with the eat more pussy ep on the same posting - I can get that - enjoyable without any preconceptions...

I collect (tasteful) images of women with dragon tattoos (long before I'd heard of the book) for literary reasons (honest; no, I mean reallyhonest) as a character I have in one of my (presently shelved) novels has a rather unique one...
As for posting stuff, I suspect Dave will pull the page faster than you can name a list of well known (USofA) Brit American football stars to have played the Rose Bowl...  ;D

I've only ever seen NP when Karen Cuda was the bass player. Mmmm....
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

I hope the split was amicable. Karen was really nice and a good player. If she had replaced Corey and not had to take the shit that Tracy did, they'd be a much more popular band. "Fried Chicken and Coffee" off the first album, got a Grammy nomination. Looking back, Corey really WAS a big part of their sound/attitude (she played on the first two albums) and I think it knocked the wind out of the whole band when they had to give her the boot, (they lost supporting slots on a few major tours) and they've never really recovered creatively, nor can they re-generate the popularity momentum they had with Corey. Lightning in a bottle: enjoy it while it lasts, cause when it's gone, you can't get it back.

It's just hard, mean rock, blue collar stuff. New Jersey has Springsteen. Kentucky has Nashville Pussy.

What were the reasons...?

(I knew there had to be a reason I married a C&W loving Kentuckian... ;))

It ain't public knowledge; I ain't sayin' in public. PM me if you really want to know. It's not particularly salacious or even a secret, but since the band didn't publicize it, I won't either.

Blaine is the only one of them actually from Kentucky. Ruyter, his wife, is Canadian. She is one HELL of a guitar player and probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. When I took my wife to some shows, the two would talk for hours before and after. IIRC, Jeremy's from Virginia, and Corey was from Florida. I met them on their first tour in 1998.

I remember NP playing here when Cherokee Parks was with the MN Timberwolves. It was a sight to see Corey and Cherokee walking together downtown, a pair that tall made heads turn.

Woo hoo! Boston was smokin' hot yesterday! The Pats come back in the 4th quarter and Pappi hits a Grand Slam. Good Time for some Boston! RIP Brad Delp.

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

I'm happy for the Sox and Big Papi. Not the band.
