Does anyone know where Carlo is...?

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

He hasn't logged in here since June 9. I checked Talkbass, he's been active recently there.

Thanks for asking, Ken...Here:

I've spent much of the last 6 months getting my house in order in preparation for the coming chaos.  Built a six foot fence around the place, installed a new roof, major cleanup, etc.  All with the help of my next door neighbor.

Finished this and sent it to Hamburg.

Started this but I'm stalled due to severe arthritis. Can't build and can't play.

CBD seems to help, hope to be back in action in 2021.

Stay healthy, guys!

(EDIT)Oh, yeah...here's a first prototype of a new 8/12er bridge since the Schaller 471-8 is discontinued.

My Don... so glad to hear form you, and so sorry to hear your bad health news...
CBD has numerous interesting properties... my daughter uses it for some of her issues too...
Would have been more fun to have had 5150 as the address...

Rob

Good hearing from you Carlo and hope for a health improvement soon.

Dave W

Sorry to hear about your arthritis.

Second prototype 8/12 bridge.  Basically sawing in half the saddle carriers of an ABM type 4 string bridge. Then drilling and tapping a hole in the now 8 saddles for height adjustment and using the existing grub screw to lock each saddle pair in place.

Rob

Nice and the knobs even nicer!

clankenstein

+ 1   - cool location of the stacked controls too.
Louder bass!.

Now with quick release integrated tailpiece,8 and 10 string. Black and gold options.

E saddles not split in the correct spot.

Fairly enthused with the results and planning a small run.

Rob

That is coming along really well.

  That looks great Carlo!

So, what did I miss?

Back in the saddle with a mini Explorer(ish) cut from a MAX bass. Fits in a standard case and will use a standard body blank.

Mock up.

Original MAX prototype of eight years ago in current state of undress.

Trimmed, the rest is sawdust.

Medium and short scales are going to be fun.
