Proof that not all news about bass players in Cleveland is bad news.

Yeah, but he was only visiting.  He lives in Cincinnati.

Of course you expect me to do some Warwick related topics here. Here's one about his new bass. His voice disappointed me. I thought he would have a big and heavy voice, but he sounds like Michael Jackson.

I had to laugh when he talked about the stork.

He just has a tenor voice, it's not effeminate like Michael Jackson.

Gotta love Bootsy! He has actually had several companies make basses for him over the years - some of them kind of unexpected.

You gotta check out some of his stuff! His albums are actually pretty uneven. Actually, my absolute favorite Bootsy is when he was with James Brown:

He was really nice when I met him - not sure if he ended up using the 3Leaf stuff but supposedly he order a bunch of Proton envelope filters after I showed him my GR2!

And his star glasses might actually be real - he's adjusting them so he can see the pedal better...

He was a genuinely nice person when I met him.  He does a lot of local stuff for charity. Veterans stuff...yellow ribbon stuff...educational stuff. You name it.

He is a big man, especially when in boots and top hat. Lights up the room when he enters.

Has a very soft voice.

The night I met him he was fundraising with Matt Maupin's dad for one of the yellow ribbon charities.  It was Valentine's day, we played "Lady" by Lionel Richie, and Bootsy and his wife got up and danced.
