Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

The action looks ridiculously high, the truss rod is bad or needs adjustment. In my experience on basses of this period the truss rods are pron to snapping at the nut. Could be the case here but without looking under the truss rod cover I can't say. Again all imho.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant to point out the Grabber shown in post #513, which is supposedly a prototype.

It looks like a normal G-3, but that doesn't rule out that it is indeed a prototype. I'm a bit puzzled about the year 73 though - the Ripper only came out then and it was followed by the Grabber and the G-3 came even later, it didn't hit stores before 75/76. But they might have let it wait in the drawer until then.

Love the pups on those G3s.  ... also  Thumbsup at that guy's drummer wearing a Metz TShirt (local Toronto band that just got signed by Geffen; used to play shows with them in one of my old bands).

Those pups are courtesy of Bill Lawrence.

Oh, I know.  Also used in the S1 6-banger (which was used by Ron Wood for a while).
