I like the looks of it. The Cabronita Teles have stirred up a lot of interest over at the Tele forum and have inspired lots of homebuilt versions. We'll have to see if the bass generates any interest.

Couldn't care less about the nitro, but that's just me.

It is a pity that the entire demo is played with distortion, the clean sound could be interesting if it is as I would imagine it would be.

I note: " single Fideli'Tron™ humbucking bass pickup..."

Are they dipping into the Gretsch parts bin?  It sure looks like it!

...And I suspect that would be a rather good thing.  That might put some life back into the old Tele line. I agree, too bad it's all played with distortion, but it sounds pretty good to me.

Yes. The original La Cabronita Especial Teles were custom shop guitars with TV Jones FilterTrons. And there have been very limited ($4000+) custom shop Cabronita basses including the La Cabronita Porrazo P-Bass and the (reverse-Jaguar) La Cabronita Boracho, both of which came with a TV Jones ThunderBlade pickup. Not exactly Gretsch parts but designed to be used in a Gretsch. So it's no surprise that the lower priced Teles and bass would come with a Gretsch pickup, which is made by Fender anyway.

Makes sense to me.  Something different from the old '51 single coil, and that's a bit of variety Fender can benefit from.

That pickup looks very much like a FilterTron, but Gretsch uses that look in general.

Yeah, I really like that burst.

For those of you who have to have nitro and a genuine TV Jones Thunder Tron, I see there's one Custom Shop Cabronita Porrazo left at this shop. Note the price. Better hurry and snap this one up!

I have a couple of Filtertrons around...when I get to that Tele project, this gives me ideas.
