In the sense of caring and sharing, here is the Golden Earring song.  Probably not a good idea to play at work.  I like it.  Definitely one of my favorite GE albums.  The first I know of that Rinus Gerritsen played a Yamaha BB3000 which sounded quite good, IMO.

It's not those who write the laws that have the greatest impact on society.  It's those who write the songs.

And another one from Les Purps, hopefully this passes the Dutch Dire Straits test ...

Ah, so you like it when Gillan talks over the music ...

Release imminent - tomorrow!!! And they played on German prime time TV last night. That said, their single is a bit non-descript (typical Morse-era riffage) except for Gillan's Lennonesque bridge vocal melody.

someone finally bought morse a shirt with sleeves! reason enough for the video. seriously uwe, i like deep purple ok. i have some dp records and don't turn the station when they come on the radio. but their lyrics, even by rock's low standards, are so bad i cringe when i see old men who should know better and write better belt this stuff out. imo the best part of purple is the drumming and that's great on every record. :)

Boy, Germans sure do love pumping their hands in the air one way or another  ;)
The other vid was blocked but the live track is definitely cool.
This is a better Gillan talking lyrics tune.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

I'm listening to it right now. Danke, lieber Bob Ezrin, danke, for doing this to Deep Purple!!! It has the ingredients to be another classic in their canon.

If they never bring out another studio album, I'll die a happy and content man. Deep Purple even sing about vampires ("Vincent Price") on it, no joke (and non-jokey). And yes, it has an orchestra and - you guessed it! - a children's choir on it. Never change a recipe that worked both with School's Out and Another Brick in the Wall.

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Why I like Billy Corgan:

Billy Corgan, the outspoken Smashing Pumpkins frontman, decided to lay into Radiohead during a recent interview with Antiquiet.

For starters, he called them "pompous" and said they're a symbol of current culture of "valuation" that he despises.

"I can't think of any people outside of Weird Al Yankovic who have both embraced and pissed on rock more than I have," Corgan said. "Obviously there's a level of reverence, but there's also a level of intelligence to even know what to piss on. ... Because I'm not pissing on Rainbow. I'm not pissing on Deep Purple. But I'll piss on f***ing Radiohead, because of all this pomposity. This value system that says Jonny Greenwood is more valuable than Ritchie Blackmore. Not in the world I grew up in."

He continued: "So I find myself defending things. Is Ritchie Blackmore a better guitar player than me and Jonny Greenwood? Yes. Have we all made contributions? Yes. I'm not attacking that. I'm attacking the pomposity that says this is more valuable than that. I'm sick of that. I'm so f***ing sick of it, and nobody seems to tire of it."
