AFAIK, yes, that's his first that he got into trouble with customs agents over. This is obviously after the dual J pup mod.  :-\

Never seen that, f***ing spectacular! I know he played Roger's Ric at the Who Do We Thhink We Are Rome sessions when there was nothing to do (Blackmore was still recovering from American Tour hepatitis and keeping away from the band for much of the time, so the Rome sessions weren't very busy), the jam with Jon and Ian is on the WDWTWA Remaster CD.

This looks more like backstage though with the lockers.

I've seen Blackers play bass with Purple and Blackmore's Night - he swaps instruments during Smoke on the Water or Black Night when in whimsical mood. Of course, the second he hits those bass strings, you know it's him, he's just so idiosyncratic.

Vielen Dank, great pic!

Ritchie was always known for the stockings and suspenders under his regular stage gear - never a problem with flares he used to say... and also a keen football fan, especially Fulham FC, quaintly known as the Cottagers...

Colin Hart, his old road manager, says he has the best wig/hair addition in the business, amazingly realistic and hugely expensive.

Ritchie was always vain about his and other people's looks (and continues to be), but I liked his receding hairline look in the seventies better. It looked nastier and more domineering, gave him that bulgy eyes reptile look.

The fringe/hair addition cropped (pun unintentional) up first on the Long Live Rock'n'Roll Tour, where Stone and Daisley also debuted as new members.

And it's been taken well care of ever since ...

"Hey, spot the second cat in that picture!"

Nowadays a little more grizzled, mind you, we want to look good, but not silly and not our age!

He should do a Bruce Willis and be done with it... ;)
