I was chatting with Kurt at the HOG and he said Gibson is gonna come out with a 335-archtop style bass (aka EB-2 in the old days).  Should be interesting to see if they actually do it and what the price point will be.  I'll post again if I get more info on it.

If they do it, I'll bet it will be a lot more expensive than the Midtown.

This will trigger a ten page thread exchange on the necessity of a baritone switch!!! In bakelite of course, with the period-correct amount of early sixties US atmosphere radiation contamination of course, otherwise it won't be a true reissue. NOS bakelite lovingly aged in the Nevada desert.

Did anyone here get a Midtown bass?  I just bought a six-stringer and I love it!  It's a fantastic guitar.  I missed out on the $799 Sam Ash blowout, so I had to pony up another buck and a half, but I still think it's a great deal.  I bet they'll start blowing out the basses pretty soon.

It's only 50's vintage New Mexico bakelite if it glows in the dark!

Bill got one, or did I go nuts...? (hmm... don't answer that) ... no doubt Uwe has one, or the Lady is on route...

I was thinking of building one from scratch!  Waiting on this report instead.

Hmm... What's this to the left??? Midtown with dual LP style TB+?

Looks like what's in the Flying V. Supposedly new design, but sounding and looking to me like TB Plus chromies.
