I loved the kind of music that people like Phil Lynott made.  But it's all gone now, that's for sure.  Pretty much replaced by that which is inferior, in my opinion, too. 
It's not those who write the laws that have the greatest impact on society.  It's those who write the songs.

I am convinced it is still being made. But you have to dig through a larger pile of crap than you had to back in the days...

That's for sure.  I also feel that there are quite a few people out there that make great music, but there is hardly any way for them to get their music known and there is no way for them to keep doing it as a living.  So, they are forced to do something else, of course, and the world itself is all the poorer for it.
